Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

I was talkin' big that time over the discussion with your dad. I am glad that he was happy with all the plans. Makes it easier when you've got him in your court. Very nice that he mentioned your mom. I know you have had to think about that too.

My mom won't even talk politics. It's not polite conversation you know. But, gees, with family! Grama and I talked politics on a regular basis. She was a yellow dog democrat. Agreed with me on every last issue - but voted dem every time because her daddy told her too. He died in 1959 BTW! I found it my civic duty all my life to cancel out her vote!
One thing about it! This is my first round of elections where my vote ain't goin' to cancel out Grama's! LOL

Well, I don't have the same reason.... but I'm not really wanting gumbo either.
I found some leftover Spanish rice in the freezer though and mixed it in with the gumbo so there is more substance there.
I will still go eat Mexican food with the neighbor when she gets home though if she wants too. Her mom said she's working till 9. I'll be hungry again by then! :-)

My mother got into shooting only because she realized early on that if she didn't she would never get to spend time with my dad (Cuz that was what he was into, whether she was there or not).
He was also into radio controlled planes and cars, photography (mostly black and white), guns (mostly muzzleloaders), stringed instruments - like the mandolin, guitar, banjo, and fiddle, airplanes (small aircraft like Cessna and Luscombe), vehicles (he had a thing for sporty cars and motorcycles).
Dang, I think he musta been ADD to do all that all the time.

Dang, I think he musta been ADD to do all that all the time.LOL!!! I like him!!!
You know, I'm not sure why my mom started shooting. She didn't as I was growing up. As I've mentioned before that was not something on the list of things okay for females in my family. But, after I left home she got a handgun and got really good with it.
The way she is, if I asked her the reason, she'd just say, "Oh, I don't know."
Grama and I were amused and entertained by her interest though. We were very proud of her achievements! Even though she never discusses things with us. LOL
