The Hobbit Hole V - Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
ecurbh

Posted on 12/11/2003 2:07:57 PM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Did Wneighbor tell you how I demonstrated how Jar Jar the spastic chicken acts? While we were eating in the mall?

If she thought I was a crazy character before...well, that probably cinched it.

Copper Harbor webcam

Lake Superior Circle Tour

I've been as far east as Munising and as far west as Duluth; lived a number of years in Houghton/Hancock and have been up to Copper Harbor several times. I haven't been to Sault Ste. Marie yet, though, or into Canada.

Beautiful country to be sure!

Heh.... but if you are inviting people to go hiking.... you have to have a big outside for that, but it doesn't have to be at your house!

I was telling WN, "I love 2J. She is a crazy litt’l character and I would love to be in her shoes. To be a stay at home mom. With two jedis, at that! and bagels, chickens and personal foot treatments"!

And actually, when we first met PQ, I think I was close to livin' that life!

'Cept sub tortillas for bagels

and rabbits *that was your mom's fault* for chickens!

LOL

and instead of foot treatments we had the Mosheim spa!!!

for the rest of you, the Mosheim spa is a $20 kiddie pool from WalMart that was always in my yard for cooling off in hot weather!

Back then, we had lots of time for camping trips and such didn't we?

Ah, yet another fine Ship..
My crew is a little on the grave side though.
They clam up as soon as you try to get them to come alive.

Went to the UP with my folks a few years ago. Stayed a couple nights in Munising and explored the Pictured Rocks, then went to Sault Ste. Marie for a day. Was very cool, watching the giant freighters go through the locks. Also spent a day at Mackinac Island. That was a bit more touristy than I usually like, but still fun.

LMHO! Yes, I remember those days. Man they were a long time ago now. I remember pulling up in the drive way seeing your long legs in that tiny pool atop your floaty. And you would just lay there all relaxed like you were a Queen in her King Size "cement pool" with out a care in the world. It was great!

I often wonder if I come across online the way I am in RL. Wneighbor was pretty much just as I expected. G'nad was just as friendly and almost jovial, as I expected, but of course the intense expression in his eyes could never be read except in person.

Very cool!

I think I've mentioned before, I took Rose on the Pictured Rocks cruise during our first "date". Had a grand time!

She wants to see the Soo locks, and the Mackinaw Bridge, but since my Mom's house is virtually at the other end of the U.P., so far those sights have been too far out of the way. One day we'll get there...

Nope! I didn't tell her about that! I told her how much I liked having lunch with ya! And how much I love ya! And how I felt like we were just kindred spirits.

And I worked on trying to figure out how I can get her up here to come with me when I get to come visit you again.... whether it's a big foot-moot or just us getting to visit! I am coming soon as I can... and it would be really nice if I could get PQ along too. You will love her in person also!

PQ grew up in the country. For a while they lived in a little bitty cabin without a bathroom and bathed in the creek on the property. She was about 8 years old and *looked forward* to going and bathing in that creek even in January weather!!! Then they moved to another place a mile down the road from me (with a bathroom!) She had a pony, and they had chickens and rabbits!

I've often wondered the same thing about myself. Wneighbor, what do you think? Am I any different in person than I am online?

Ok Texas hobbit holers, and anyone interested.

I just got tickets to the Houston Stock Show and Rodeo to see Dwight Yoakum/Buck Owens/Marty Stuart with Connie Smith on March the 12. and then Randy Travis on Mar. 13. If any Texas people would like to moot with me there, I can get a few more tickets, but I have to know today or tomorrow. These are from my friend Cindy, who gets them every year through her company. They are always front row and great seats. If you've never been to a Houston Rodeo, it is a lot of fun.

LOL! ALL OF THAT IS THE TRUTH BELIEVE IT OR NOT.

And to me it almost seems like it was all a dream. I bathed in the creek!!! And used an out house....with like a 1000 daddy lon-legged spiders in it. CREEPY. And I never gave it a second thought. I never would have guessed it was wrong and that we could have been taken from my folks if anyone would have every found that out.

And yeah Maybell my hourse was the best! And the rabbits and chickens.....

***sigh***

Those were the days
