The Hobbit Hole V - Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
ecurbh

Posted on 12/11/2003 2:07:57 PM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Thank you!

I've always wanted to visit Vermont in the fall, but haven't made it yet. Will do so eventually.

I want some! If you think of it, can you ask her where she got them?

I will try to find out. IIRC they look like Rubbermaid stuff.

Yep. We did too! That was a *good* time. :-) 10 years ago this year. *sigh*

Nah, I took the liberty of that embellishment.

Well, I'm gonna email it to her. I didn't find it in my book though. :-(

Vermont is awfully purty in the fall, too. But then...I'm biased.

I think I might like to visit then. But, you know there I would have to dress like I do here for winter I think. Still, the closest I've made it to New England was to Jen's neck of the woods. I'd like to see Vermont.

Wish I had a bigger place! I'd love to have everyone come in the fall sometime - do the leaf peeper thing and go hiking!

Hair, have you seriesly never been to the North Shore? If not, I second Ecurb's suggestion about going...it is gorgeous. Steve grew up right north of Two Harbors, in Silver Bay. We like to drive up the scenic route and get the smoked fish (as I know I've stated before). Be sure and go to Palisade Head in the late summer and pick the wild blueberries. I have pictures of Joshua when he was a baby sitting up there in a patch of blueberries just stuffing his face!

If you're really adventurous, you could canoe into the Boundary Waters...very primitive camping. We did that too and it is one of my fondest memories. I got up very early one morning and was fishing when a moose went swimming by so close I was afraid it would snag my line! It didn't, and shortly thereafter, I caught breakfast! A northern pike. Steve hadn't even gotten up yet and I had the fire going and had caught breakfast! Had to wake him up then because I don't like to clean fish. I don't mind skinning catfish, but I can't stand getting nasty scales on my hands.

But I digress. I don't dream of going on cruises or fancy vacations...I just want to hang out in the Boundary Waters with Steve again. It was a great time in our lives.

Well, maybe we can come one or two at a time. I think we all have sleeping bags... and a lot of us wouldn't even mind crashing on the floor for such great company! :-)

I second that! Those are the kind of things I like too. Mine tend toward more southerly places though... like Big Bend and places in New Mexico or Arizona.

Whoa! 2 F16s just flew right over the house...LOUD! I love it.

A helicopter flew over yesterday, but didn't circle.

I took Joshua to school. After he ate breakfast he sounded better...like the eating cleared things up a bit in his throat. He was so disappointed he wasn't getting to go because today was "Cowboy day" and he was going to dress up like a cowboy and not only that, they were going to "give him a free sample of jerky". (He calls everything outside of regular meals...snacks or such...free samples. Got it from going to Sam's.)

Good morning PQ! Glad your day was good! :-)

PQ is learning from her mentor 2J. Her birthday was not a one day celebration! It lasted *3* days! :-)
