My friend who subbed for me for entmoot has already said he'll do it for another week in July. So, I will be there.
Additionally, you know my situation, I don't have a lot of responsibilities at home. Since Ken has said he'll sub for one week's classes I can be kinda free to arrange those days. If you, or Dona, would like some help with getting things ready I would be happy to be there early to help.
I am planning to rent a car and take some time to visit friends and family I haven't seen in some time. But, that is a secondary reason for the trip. First thing is, whatever you may need assistance with - if anything.

The spiders felt... I dunno, a little too human?Yeah, they sounded like humans too, until they started talking about 'all' of their arms! ;o)

Rose and I would love to be there... but if I don't get a job we probably won't be able to afford the trip, and if I do get a job I may not be able to get the time off.
Life sucks.

Seems like one always either has time, by no money...or money, but no time.
It's most frustrating.
To: RosieCotton
Um...that by should be a but.
I'm getting sleepy...

I sent invitations to EVERYBODY, and got all kinds of presents! Had a small wedding, though. LOL But people started sending presents to us and it was quite thrilling!
I have presents from people that didn't come to the wedding that I still cherish to this day.

Somehow I got stuck with the night to close on the one night we have a class lasting till 10 PM.
And with that.... I am supposed to ask one of my students to stay while I close so I'm not walking to my pickup alone.
Yeah, right, do you think they wanna stay till 10? They get out at 9:15. And tonight, they were all gone by 8:45.

We have lost all my close family. Whether it is my advanced age or our family's recent poor luck at surviving, the Aunts and Uncles that I picture when I think of family are gone and only their children, who we always saw growing up, but who I don't even have phone numbers for now, are left. I don't know if they are still married (one was having trouble) or how many kids they may have... Been three years now I think since I saw them. I have one remaining Aunt, the one who is just to mean to die, though she is likely in pretty poor health.
Seems artificial to invite them, though they would definately come. Should I make this attempt to continue these ties? Grandma and Mom would say yes, but I just don't see this generation continuing the ties we had, with or without this reunion. We had them over once in the summer and once around Christmas the first few years after Grandma died. They loved coming back to the beach house then... But the calls have stopped now. They don't know where I live or anything about me.

'xactly right!
Dang lottery just ain't comin' through quick enough to suit me.

If you, or Dona, would like some help with getting things ready I would be happy to be there early to help. I will let her know! My friend Kay is a fine cook that can prepare food at a catering level too.... but I don't know if those two women can work together or if it would be a disaster! It might be better for all if we just let Dona give the orders. I try not to get involved in kitchen decisions!

Heh...gifts...the one benefit of sending invitations to people you kinda hope won't come?
*yawn* OK, just tasted the soup, which is mostly for later, and it's wunnerful...the best black bean soup I've ever made. And my tea is almost gone. I'm gonna go read for awhile and then sleep!
Good night!

They don't know where I live or anything about me.A lot of my family is that way. People that I was very fond of in my younger years. And now, time has made them so distant, that despite the fondness I once had, there seems to be no point in trying to make contact. Grama would be disappointed in me saying that. But, much as I love her, I am NOT her.
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Life sucks. LOL! - Yep! I will hope you can come!
To: HairOfTheDog
Well, I'm fairly good at just shutting my mouth and taking orders if it's needed. And pretty handy in a kitchen to boot. or with cleaning or any other preparations - whatever. You have my services if needed.
To: RosieCotton; Bear_in_RoseBear
Well, I for one will be very sad if ya'll don't get to come to the wedding for either reason - time or money. I guess I will have to say that at least with all the pure crap that's happened to me in the last year - at least it has left me free to get to entmoot and now it looks like to weddingmoot as well. Proof that something good comes of everything I guess.
