The Hobbit Hole V - Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
ecurbh

Posted on 12/11/2003 2:07:57 PM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Rickenbacker Causeway is just south of downtown Miami and goes out to Key Biscayne, a mile or so off the mainland.

Eddie Rickenbacker was something of a Miami fixture for awhile, was in the airline business there after being a fighter pilot in WWI.

Soup sounds good...mmmm...

I get leftovers tonight. Luckily they're pretty good leftovers. Need to make something for lunch tomorrow, though.

I'm not sure what's for dinner... Mom's cooking, and she hasn't been able to get to the store in days. So we may be having, oh, hamburger soup or something.

I made cheeseburger soup one time when I was little. With cheddar cheese. Mom was trying to talk me through making something, can't remember what, while she was upstairs working on something. Whatever it was meant to be, cheeseburger soup was what it became.

As I recall, it was some of the ugliest stuff ever made, but pretty tasty...though we never made it again.

Oh dear!

I'm not a soup fan, and I don't care for cheese much, so that doesn't sound like my kind of meal... but I've had stranger stuff!

I had them use the vinegar and oil, and very light on th oil. The soup, I had it on table 30 after I walked in the door. Really fast. It was even better today. A lot like my regular italian wedding soup but without the pasta.

Well, I'm about halfway moved into Myranda's room now. I will be sleeping in there now at any rate. (It's warmest in her room) Still got the stuff on her walls, bookshelves and a stack of assorted stuff to find a place for. Then, move my stuff in there on the walls etc. And I need new curtains. But, I'm making progress.... after months of going at this a little at a time.

You will make gumbo at the next Entmoot. I worked with a guy who was from Louisiana, albeit indirectly (he was a military brat, so his folks were from there and I think he partially grew up there). He made REALLLLLLY good gumbo. Vey hot, though...he usually made two batches, one for them that liked the super hot stuff and one fairly mild batch. I mixed 'em. I like to taste what I'm eating, but do like some heat.

Did I mention it was gooooood?

Gotta leave in a few minutes to take Van-sama to get an oil change and fluid check. Hopefully it doesn't cost much...

You probably don't drive it aggressively enough.
