The Hobbit Hole V - Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
ecurbh

Posted on 12/11/2003 2:07:57 PM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

That's what I'm hoping with the jedis...who the heck will CARE if they don't have a blasted diploma if they have a year of college under their belts by the time they are 18 (or maybe 17 in Matthew's case.)

You might like this one at # 348. Then again, you might not.

Someone might care. I doubt it. By the time they're that age, homeschoolers should rule the world, so you're ok.

Yeah once you have at least 15 college credits, they consider you a high school grad, even if you don't have a diploma or anything. But the community high school is free, so i figured it would be easier just to take the test. Its not like I have anything better to do right now anyway.

Well, it seems it is my turn to call on the Hobbit Hole Prayer Warriors- and I do so humbly and reluctantly.

Just got off the phone with my mother who just got back from seeing my father admitted to the hospital. His health is delicate and the long story goes back to a freak virus that attacked his heart about 15 years ago- it caused pericarditis which damaged the heart muscle and triggered some very severe respiratory problems. These are now congenital conditions and the best that can be hoped for is holding the line- he'll never really improve. So any kind of chest infection is deadly. But they wouldn't be if he weren't so stubborn/reluctant about going to the doctor. He waits until he's on death's door and has to be admitted. Then he is the worst patient imaginable- such that they sedate him to keep him from fighting the equipment.

So the situation has everyone worried: this infection is especially bad and he waited especially long to seek help. So prayers would be appreciated: that he chooses to fight the infection rather than the nurses, that he finds the strength to pull through, and for my mother who is very tired, a little angry, and a lot scared.

And gentlemen of the Hobbit Hole.... you may not realize what a blessing it is to your friends and loved ones to NOT BE SO BLASTED STUBBORN ABOUT YOUR HEALTH. Take care of yourselves- for your loved ones' sake.

Many thanks ahead of time.

Does that mean that females don't have manners?

Not at all, manners are gender neutral and an indicator of the health of a culture.

Is it bad manners to build a SPam Cannon and pelt people with the gooey squarish concoction?

Do you mean "people" or "spammers"? Because it would be appropriate punishment...

Man, it is really getting hot and stuffy down here, has to be in the mid 80's by now. At least it's not raining, though.

Hey, Bilbo, I heard a rumor that Studio Ghibli's next project is "Howl's Moving Castle", based on a book by an English author, Diana Wynne Jones... I really liked the book and frankly the rumors are giving me nightmares, imagining this story in anime style.

You know where to verify this?

Hmm..
Spammers as Spam Cannon targets definately.
People in general..
Hmm...
Depends on if they're heading to my front door.
There'd be a danger zone of raining Spam Projectile Dreath on the path to my door.
