The Hobbit Hole V - Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
ecurbh

Posted on 12/11/2003 2:07:57 PM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

I got a zipped program that turns out to be an Excel program that I can't open. It's a database of OTR programs...

You can send it to me, I can open it, and resave it as a plain text file.

I don't think there's a way to open Excel files without Excel...except maybe through a different spreadsheet program, though even that would probably come out skewed. You don't have anything like that on your computer?

I found some of these...am munching on them. Proudly made in the USA! Got 'em at Dollar General for 49 cents.

OK! That's what I'll do. Do you still have my email address? I don't think I have yours any more.

Heh...at first glance the smaller letters said soylent green.

Um...no thanks! Heh!

I got paid today, so I'm splurging. I have chicken legs, rice and veggies for dinner. The chicken is simmering now...should be done in half an hour or so.

AND there was ice cream on sale. I can't remember the last time I had ice cream! Probably around Christmas. OK, so that's like two weeks ago, but...

I had Steve take me to Baskin Robbins the other day. He came in hauling a big old gallon of vanilla ice cream that tasted like you was suckin' on an ice cube. I said "THAT'S IT! I want two scoops of Jamoca Almond Fudge on a waffle cone!"

It was a splurge, but MMMMMM!

What kind of fish? I think I can make out "herring", but I'm not sure.

Heh...I remember getting stuff like that growing up - nothing but ice crystals. Didn't make sense even calling it ice "cream". 'Tweren't creamy at ALL!

I got just Hood...but it's Grasshopper Pie. Not bad at all.

Yes, herring...very tasty, really! It had a little group of jalepenos that I scraped off, but it flavored the entire can. Very tasty.

Gonna have to try the lousiana hot sauce ones...now that I've become addicted to the stuff as of late.

I want ice cream. I even want carbless ice cream. Stupid diet. Stupid grocery store, all out of my carbless Moose Tracks.

It's been a few days since you last checked, hasn't it?

If I were to do that diet, I'd be outta luck. I've never seen low-carb or carbless ice cream here, ever.

I like sardines with mustard.

I think we've had this conversation before, haven't we? ;-)

Yes, I think we have! LOL

Hobbits delighted in such things, if they were accurate: they liked to have books filled with things that they already knew, set out fair and square with no contradictions.

No, I checked yesterday. Maybe tomorrow they'll have some. It's really too cold for ice cream anyway.

It seems though, that lately...in line with all the other bizzare changes that seem to be taking place in me, I can't get my food spicy enough! I have never even cared for the smell of lousiana hotsauce until a few weeks ago when Steve bought some on a whim for HIS eggs...I tried one drop. Now I fry my eggs and just drowned them in the stuff.

Then the other night we went to Popeyes and I discover they have the hotsauce in little packets! I douse my chicken in it!

If this is peri-menopause, I'm all for it, baby!

I like Tabasco on eggs! Usually only put it on scrambled eggs, though. I don't remember why.

We never made it to Popeyes while I was in Florida. *snif*
