Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Yeah - I know... I see an unfortunate amount of malcontent with Bush here too. Feed back criticism all you want, but don't pretend you have a choice other than voting for him in the fall. Both sides have their perpetually unhappy fringes. Unfortunately, leading a country with lots of people in it either requires either brute force or compromise.

I don't go to any other forums, but have been noticing hatred of Bush for awhile now, in newspaper articles that get posted on FR.
I don't really understand it, since, in my view, Bush is not that far from being a liberal himself.
But I think it must stem from fear, fear that he could be successful enough to drown what must be actual socialist or actual communist dreams that these people harbor.
And I guess his patriotism must be part of it.

do you have a way of printing big photos like that? (13x19). Anyone with a good photo printer? SSQ just gave me one for Christmas! We'll have it up and running in a week or two.

Looks delish. I would have it with Tabasco too. mmmm

Did you ever see such a puffed up round egg, though?
They kinda go down when you serve them, but not always.

I don't really understand it, since, in my view, Bush is not that far from being a liberal himself. I think, more than creed, it is about "teamism". People identify with a team now more than a ideology. Who is evil and who is right or supportable depends on what team he is on more than what he wants to do. Both sides play the same doublespeak. It is a confused and unfocused time...

hey rosie, i just appied at westaff and they think they can get me a job at Lydell, i'm going back there to give them my ID and soc. I'll tell you how it goes That wouldn't be too bad...I've heard they pay pretty well and have decent benefits...plus it'd be on either Jim or my way to work.

I'm supposed to be pinged to Nero Wolfe comments, too...
I bought one more while in FL. Wanted several more, but I was good.

What kind of printer is it? Is it specifically designed for photos, or just a large-format inkjet?

I'm a bachelor in a 2-bedroom apartment. The other bedroom is the library, all my many books and (tons of mostly classical music) CDs. Several atlases but no big globe. It's very convenient.

I'm a definite broken glass gal. I am certain this is a strategy I'm seeing. The liberals still control the majority of television media and newspapers. Conservatives have the radio talk and the internet. I see a new army of sorts at the keyboards. Time for reality to get whacking at them I think, from now until November. It is a dirty job, but somebody has to do it. lol
must go choose my weapons carefully.;)

I was thinking the EXACT same thing. Most of these guys are sore because their team lost. Much like the emotion that people put into sports teams. Very highly emotional about something I don't find worth getting all that emotional about.
I thought though, at the 2000 elections, that Bush winning was absolutely the hand of God. And now, looking back over this last 3 years and the things he's had to deal with, I'm convinced God put the right man in place. Can you imagine algore being president?

Whoops, sorry...I can't find my Nero Wolfe books, even though I own most all of them. Wondering if they got thrown out somehow.
I'm ready to reread some, I think.

Wondering if they got thrown out somehow. Nooooooooo!
I'm slowly building up a complete collection. Of course, at any one time Dad has half my collection, or I half his. We've ended up with some duplicates, though that isn't altogether a bad thing.
To: Sam Cree
Bush is not that far from being a liberal himself. Sam? You dont' seriesly think we are in the same place we would be if Gore had been elected, do you? Bush is the president, not our King. He does all that reality allows him as our president, to conserve and preserve our great country. I believe that. Could I have done better. I don't believe so.
To: HairOfTheDog; My back yard
You guys could be right, it could all be just tactics on the part of the democrats.
It's just that I don't personally remember outright hatred in American presidential elections.
My current view is that the Democrats are just out and out socialists, which I view as evil in this day and age, since we've all had a chance to see socialism demonstrated.
OTOH, while I see GW as a straight shooter and a big picture guy, I'm not usually really sure what he's really thinking. These days I'm starting to think the Republicans don't have a particular political philosophy at all.
