The Hobbit Hole V - Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
ecurbh

Posted on 12/11/2003 2:07:57 PM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

We're supposed to get above freezing today....yay! But it's cloudy and gloomy again.

I need more bookshelves.

I'd have less room...but at least I'd be somewhat organized.

I have a extra-wide shelf that holds several hundred, and a rack for paperbacks with another couple hundred...

Normally, that would be a great strategy...if my boss happened to be "better than average".

Sadly, he's not. He has no experience in this field whatsoever. Many times, we end up showing him how to do his job.

I only have one big one and one small one, and lots of regular books in addition to paperbacks...plus lots of oversized music books that don't fit on most shelves.

Dad bought nice bookshelves while I was gone, and I'm feeling very envious right now.

I still need more space. One shelf is devoted to my dragons but they should really be elsewhere. If I had anywhere else for them, that is.

This is interesting.... I have seen very few LoTR threads at DU ~ever~....

The comments in this one seem fairly indecipherable! They aren't really even arguing JRD's point... I don't ~think~...

I'd love to have entire room full of bookshelves. Might be enough.

In movies, you know those great libraries that are two floors high, with ladders everywhere, and chairs by the fireplace?

That's what I want.

How can you even lurk there. I've yet to see a thread that makes sense. I can't even follow anything in that forum.

Can you imagine being able to hang out in a library like that? And the smell...lots and lots of old books with leather binding...mmmmmmm...

I HAD to go look. But I was hoping for insane ranting. Instead I find a somewhat boring thread about small town attitudes, more or less.

*sigh*

I'm guessing most of THEM like LOTR, too...and don't want to be toooo quick to condemn it or an actor who plays a major part in it?

Hmmm... so the hills are all right... not enough green leafy trees for this girl with Elvish tendencies, though.

You want trees? Okay, it's a bit of a hike from Big Bend, but we do have the Big Thicket.
