The Hobbit Hole V - Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
ecurbh

Posted on 12/11/2003 2:07:57 PM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Mirrors are nice. I have one in my room. Actually my walls are getting cluttered with stuff...

Make it stop...please...lol

There is only one way to make it stop. It must be cast back into the fire from whence it came!

One of you must do this.

I think I have reasonably good taste, so when I go into a thrift store, I don't end up with a bunch of junk. I see something that I know is a good buy, I get it. Like my coffee carafe...they aren't that expensive in Walmart, but I got mine for .49 at the thrift store! That's a useful and good buy! Got a little paper shredder brand new in the box that works like a charm, attaches to my trash can for a buck. Everyone needs one of those! Got a cheap tea-kettle for .49.

Most the time, it either has to be brand new in the box, or I have to be able to make it look brand new before I'll buy it in a thrift store.

My boss is being targeted by his bosses and he, in turn, is coming down on us.

This happened at a place I had a great time working.... My better-than-average boss at the time gave us all a pep-talk... He had two problems.... His superiors were out to get him, and his staff was sniping and tattling on each other. He said "Your job as a department is to protect me from the outside, and protect each other from me." I think it is a pretty good teambuilding strategy myself.... and for him, it worked. For a time. He was a mover and shaker and he didn't last long there, but when he left, so did we.

I go to the remnant-clothes shop now, for jeans, since I'm dieting and don't want to spend 30 bucks on a pair of jeans I'm only going to wear for a month. We have a nice store that gets all the items that didn't sell before, so they're new clothes. Nobody else has worn them.

I love thrift stores!

We never get OT into a Pawn Shop. We looked for them on the way to the airport the last day, but she lucked out. Was gonna make her buy a toaster.

Hehehe....when we passed that pawnshop (dimly lit...you know that's a bad sign) on the way out of town, I felt it was safe to mention that I escaped the pawnshop threat.

It's going to be about 15 here, I think, although when I think about Rosie that doesn't seem too bad.

Always glad to oblige...

Actually it's not too bad right now. Won't get much below zero until Saturday.

Can't believe you saw an opportunity and didn't fess up. We should have turned around!

At least I didn't have to scrape off my car this morning.

I just went in to wake up Joshua for school (he had crawled in my bed sometime earlier this morning) and he looked so cute that I took this picture...you can see the new dust ruffle!

I didn't have to scrape, either. Nice.

Did have to go out early and start it, though.

Current temp - just shy of 6 degrees. But it's supposed to get up to 13.

I probably should start it, but I don't like leaving my car in neutral. So I just freeze for the first eight minutes.

We might be up to 11 by now...

I have a color plotter that will print up to C size. 17 x 22. :-)

Ya' mean half-size.

You could always put the emergency brake on, if you don't like just leaving it in neutral.

It's better for the car, too, to wait until it warms up a bit.

Though five or ten above is a lot better than twenty below...

A couple of coats of paint will cover that crayon right up.

You think you're joking, don't you? But my brothers had that room before I did....

No, between the bookshelves, posters, calendar pages, mirror, and framed parchment, there really isn't that much space...
