The Hobbit Hole V - Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
ecurbh

Posted on 12/11/2003 2:07:57 PM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Yes....mmmmm....ginger.

I don't usually go with those fancy schmancy teas. Most of the time I get the Bigelow Constant Comment and Earl Grey.

I think we should have a poll for the official song of Entmoot: "Frodo of the Nine Fingers" or "Where There's a Whip".

I have some Fortnum and Mason (?) that I swiped from the house. Loose stuff. It's dandy.

Usually I get store brand black and green tea, or Twinings if I'm splurging - Earl Grey and English Breakfast, usually.

I'll have to try the ginger thing...that sounds good.

Does Flat Frodo have nine fingers, or is it a pre-Mt. Doom portrayal?

Yes, that's right. I load the episodes onto my computer before watching them, it makes them smoother. Fortunately I have a really nice screen, and headphones.

I leave the ginger in there after I've pulled the tea out. Just like ginger!

I nominate the Escaflowne theme song.

I think that's the Animoot theme song - not the theme for Entmoot as a whole.

Ah, I see....

Can you view movie files on your computer? If so, I can send you copies...

For some reason, I'm reminded of the movie "Gremlins":

I wonder if it'd be possible to convert them...I can play stuff on my laptop, but it has a tendency to get out of sync - the sound and the video, that is. And the only way to get it back is to stop completely and fast forward to the correct part.

On the other hand they play fine on Jim's computer. We could always watch them on that...

Do you copy them to your computer or play straight from the disk? Sometimes it's a problem when you're reading from the disk.

From the computer. It's a laptop...and it slows down when the fan comes on and then everything goes all wacky. It's frustrating.

This one has done it from day one. I wish I could either prevent the fan from coming on (temporarily) or figure out a way to keep it from slowing down.

It's three years old at this point, though. So that might be part of the problem.
