Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

On the theory that the bugbites are causing a mild allergic reaction, you might try taking some Benedryl. If nothing else, it should knock you out so you can sleep.

There were times when I thought I felt some bites on my arms and I squashed a few critters, but nothing left welts and I didn't have any bites on my legs or anything.
Hmmm....I did bring my own bed and bedding....

I don't have welts...just a few bites. I've had worse. I'm not that used to getting bitten up in January, though...
To: msdrby
I think it's a plan then. But, we'll have to wait at least a week cause this next week is the one where I'm driving to Carrollton every day and back to Wichita every evening. UGH. Not looking forward to this. I don't know if I'll be conscious next weekend!

I brought my own sleeping bag...
I think maybe Bear is onto something with the idea that it is a mild allergic reaction to the critter bites.
Now that I think about it, it might not be animal, but vegetable. Anything out there like poison oak/ivy? For me... I don't even have to touch poison oak. I just get near it and I'll break out. That would explain the spreading, by scratching.
To: Ramius
I didn't seem to get as many bites as you folks did.
So you were out and about in the flora? I didn't see anything that looked like poison ivy or oak.

Well... no, didn't walk around in da bushes anywhere. Just those along the beach, but all I saw there was sawgrass.
To: Ramius
I didn't wander in the plants. And I didn't see anything looking like poison ivy or oak. I checked out the plants pretty well. I also get poison ivy by only being in the vicinity. I would have snapped to it if I'd seen it.
Ya think it was the snake in the sea grapes?

Note: A couple of hours after a few applications of isopropyl alcohol the bumps are significantly reduced and itching is gone.

I gotta get off here for a while again. They may be trying to call and I don't know if Jason or Uncle Lynn has my cell phone number. Cheryl does - but she's the one *in* the emergency room.

From past experience, the only thing that raises actual welts, for me, is bug bites. Plant reactions usually just give me rashes. Besides I don't remember brushing against any odd plants. Certainly not in a couple spots which are now lumpy...
Wish I had some benadryl.
