The Hobbit Hole V - Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
ecurbh

Posted on 12/11/2003 2:07:57 PM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Elf-boy has been helping me make some shelf supports. He has been introduced to a miter-saw.

Stand back folks, young genius at work.

I got most of my house caught up yesterday. I swear, I wanted to keep it up, but my foot was really bad off there for a while. The idea of vacuuming and mopping when if felt like I was stepping on a razer blade did not appeal to me! Now that it's almost healed, I could catch up.

I finished my evening routine last night and sat down with a hot foot soak and a cup of that Tazo tea (with the stupid writing on it.) Next thing you know, there were two other sets of feet soaking in my water! LOL

It is a well-known fact that jedi knights enjoy a good foot soak now and then.

Glad your feet are feeling better.

It's raining here too....downright dreary! Wonder how much a sun lamp costs.

Heh! That's great. Did you have to explain to the non-initiated what the heck was going on?

We didn't explain in too much depth. We're still hoping to make them watch the series at some point.

Just got off the phone with WN! She's at her Grama's house right now and may not be able to get online until later this weekend.

I'll be back in a bit!

Hey, we had a plant sprout in our kitchen window sill flower pot...I kept saying "That's an avacado!" But Steve said "I don't know..."

Saw an avacado on TV today and it looks just like it! Steve is always sticking avacado seeds in the pot up there, so it would stand to reason.

Of course, there is no reasoning with him...to him, it's just some sort of miracle. LOL

I don't like the hominy grits that well either, even though I grew up in VA. However, I found out recently that Charleston, SC grits are another thing entirely. They are great, and include such things as "shrimp and grits."

You should try grits with cheese and jalapenos. Yum!

That's good to hear.

Also, IIRC, g'nad was going to be up the beach with his parents after this for some days. He likely won't have a computer handy.

I'm homesick already for Entmoot...

So many good memories, though! In-place chat-views of the movies...watching Fawlty Towers and Casablanca with OT...chatting with WN and Mrs. Ksen while they cooked on Wednesday when most of the gang had gone to the space center...walking on the beach in the dark with Bill, with so many stars showing over the ocean and the crest of the waves shimmering white...playin' music so thegirl could dance to it. I REALLY wanted to kidnap a couple of the 'nad kids. And Bill has decided the ksens need to move back to NH. For our convenience.

And now...I'm having to face up to the fact that without some drastic changes, I can't survive on my current salary, now that they $#@! raised taxes on property, which started to affect me in November. Soo...I could do with some prayers. I'm hoping this will be as simple as talking a brother or two into moving here and paying rent or sharing some of the costs, but it may mean more than that, I don't know. I should get a pay raise in June when my contract comes due, but until then it's going to be tight.

In any case, I'd appreciate prayers for guidance.

I MISS YOU!

Hi! I love that picture of you at the computer with the chicken! Too funny...

Hey, we brought back warm weather! After a week of being VEY sub-zero (nights of at least thirty below), it's now about ten above! That's better than I expected. Not Florida weather, but it could be worse!

ROFLOL I read a story in a hot rod magazine one time about a couple of car guys that went to the Soviet Union to visit. while there, they visited a secret car club. At the door, they were asked for the password.

The answer was: 18436572

Aren't they incredible? Bill is still just in awe of g'nad...can't stop talking about that whole family.

Both they and the ksen family are just wonderful folks - if I ever get married, I aspire to be like mrs. 'nad and mrs. ksen...they were inspiring.
