The Hobbit Hole V - Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
ecurbh

Posted on 12/11/2003 2:07:57 PM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Beer Cooler

That was chuckling fun. I think I can sleep now.

The more observant of you may notice the air hose joining the compressor to the combustor was replaced with a PVC pipe. This was a very, very bad idea as PVC gets soft when it gets hot and it tends to part company with the engine at the most inopportune moments!

Lord help me, but I despise a woman I've never met! I mean, besides Hillary Clinton!

Did I ever tell you that I met Hillary when she and Bill were running in 1992? It was in Keene, NH at a Kiwanis club event. I shook her hand, I wish I had known better back then......I probably have some sort of vile disease that will show up when I'm in my 60's........sheesh, I gotta go take a bath now.....

Are kids are in the Awanas club at church and they do a yearly "Awana Derby" which is basically a pinewood derby.

The same thing happens there.

The first year my kids entered I told them I'd help sand and I would put the wheels on but the design and painting was all theirs.

Jacob, who was probably five at the time, basically had a rounded block of wood with smears of different colored paint all over it. It was the ugliest car I had ever seen. But he was proud of it because he had done it himself.

We get to the derby and his car was the worst looking one of the bunch. But he didn't know or care and I wasn't about to let him know I did.

Anyway, to make a long story short his car ended up winning first place for his age group and barely missed out on finishing first in the overall fastest car race.

It was great. ;^)

Did you like the cookies?

Cookies are good! A little sweeter than the recipe we used to use at home, but otherwise kinda similar. And very nice looking!

Ugh...just went to go get clothes out of the dryer, and I apparently forgot to start it. What's more, they were FROZEN! In the dryer! Now...my basement isn't as warm as the rest of the house, but there is SOME heat down there. That was just plain weird!

I hope they dry before I leave, or I'm in trouble.

Now I gotta go pack some more...

She lives in Titusville.

That's only 35 miles or so north of Entmoot!

When you guys come and visit her let me know and we can get together if you have time.

Morning, Kim.

See you soon. Yes, wish Bear and Rosebear were coming.
We'll be up this evening, not sure of the time yet, but as soon as I can manage to get away, we'll hit the road.

Should be something over 3 hours, I guess.

Ruthy is on her way now, if I understood her right.

Safe travelling, everyone.

What city are you flying into? I see Melbourne actually has its own airport.

Thanks.

Was talking to my brother in KY last night, he said it was still snowing.

I better have a look at the weather map.

I like snow, though.

Good morning! I'm dressed... all packed... leaving for the airport in probably 45 minutes.

We're all flying into MCO, which I understand is the Orlando airport... for me, tickets to Melbourne were almost twice as much.

See you later today!

Good morning LF! Wish you were coming. I haven't even left yet!

Oh, the wonders of the modern era. It'll take two hours to go from winter to summerish.

I wish I were going, too! But given the current 'crisis' (manufactured by short-sighted management), I'm sure I'd have to cancel even if I were planning to go. *alas*

But y'all have to take TONS OF PICTURES!!! and keep us updated!!!

Better yet, a webcam! Mootcam, rather. :)
