Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

wow...that was weird!
Was just sitting here, tasted something nasty. Went and spit in the sink and it was solid blood. Thought "What the..." then my nose just gushed out a great big gush of blood! Got all over my hands!
Seems ok, now...still can taste it in my mouth, though...

I'm still hoping that there's an emergency shuttle launch while I'm in FL and I can go watch...

Dry air'll do that. Could that be? You've had all that cold weather...
I keep a humidifier going here at home, but my nose was bleeding slightly (not gushing! Hope you're OK!) 'cause it's vey dry there.
To: RosieCotton; 2Jedismom
My nose always bleeds when I go north in winter and it's dry. It stops when I return to South Florida. But it's not like it comes pouring out or anything, just see blood when I blow my nose, or taking a shower loosens up the mucous.
Hope you are OK 2J.

Here's the cookie recipe. Sorry I'm late, but I had to go get a tire patched after work. :(
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
Cream together:
3/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup molasses (light or dark, to taste)
1 egg
In another bowl, combine together well:
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cloves
1/4 teaspoon ginger
Add the dry ingredients to the shorteneing mixture. Mix well. (It'll be like Play-dough). Form into balls, then roll in sugar. Bake 8 to 10 minutes.

Where ya going with that? Never Never Land? :D
..Whoo..it's lonely here..and quiet!

Oh, excellent! This is exactly the sort of recipe I was looking for!
Actually, this looks like our favorite molasses cookie recipe, which I don't have on hand. We roll 'em in powdered sugar instead of granulated and call them "Dusty Miller Cookies". I don't have powdered, though, so I'll follow the regular directions.
Woo-hoo! Something to keep me occupied so I don't go [completely] insane!
Sorry about the tire...hope it wasn't too bad!

The National Weather Service thinks a cold front is coming through Friday night. They are probably right.
However it looks pretty nice, although there may be a few showers around on Friday. HIghs in 60's, lows in 50's, except in 40's Saturday night. Cloudy Friday, sunny and cool Saturday, if I am reading it right. Winds southwesterly, becoming northerly. Good that they will become northerly, as the truly chilly weather comes with the northwesterlies.
Their "detailed", as they call it, forcast is found here:

Just $16 dollars' worth. Pressure was down around 17 pounds. Oh well. Found an Aldi's on that end of the street.
At least with all the stores and shops in this place, you don't have to drive very far to get anything. :)
To: Sam Cree
Thanks Sam! Wow... it's been in the teens/twenties all week here. Warm weather....

"
Never Never Land?" You mean where Michael Jackson lives? Wonder if he's related to Peter Jackson.

Yes, but in KS they probably have trouble extracting it from the sky.
