Well now you have just managed to confuse the heck out of me, not that it takes much. My opinions are based on a pretty good source, the main outlet for Moore and Co. And since neither you nor I are capable of going back to Pre-Battlestar release days, what Moore says now is irrelevent, so we must rely on second hand knowledge as most of us do day to day.
People who watch the program for the first time have no Idea if it's PC or not. While some of the scenes may hint at it, I understand nothing is blatant PC, but I am not talking about watching, I am talking about knowing that Moore thinks the original series was sexist and then changing some of the main characters genders to fit that ideal.
I still say it's like the Libs tried to do to the original 9/11 flag raising men. You can't change facts, and fact is Starbuck was a Man not a Woman. If he wanted to do a good epic then he should have made this version a future to the original version. Not try to convince us that Starbuck somehow changed into a Woman overnight.
Excuse me if I sound a little cynical.
I am tried of follow up mini series that are suppose to solve everything, like with the Pretender.
The one with Count Iblis...."The War of the Gods"
When I watched the scene in part 2, Starbuck, Apollo and Athena walked into the wrecked husk if the ship that Iblis claimed he crashed in. As soon as he walked into the hatch, MY TV WENT FUZZY AND THERE WAS NOTHING BUT AUDIO!
Upon later reading (YEARS later), I learned that that scene was edited out due to the findings of cloven hooves on the other crewmembers. The implication was that the producers didn't want to mesh anything "Satanic" with the series.
Now, my question: Did it show that scene where you watched it?
Now THAT was a series about a bunch of female warriors! Bleck!
E16. What was inside the wrecked ship in "War of the Gods"
According to the original script and the novelization, the wreckage belonged to Count Iblis' comrades. Here is the scene in the script, as Apollo and Starbuck enter the wreckage.
Apollo: Everything is pretty well vaporized. Whatever hit this thing must have had the power of a sun.
Apollo stops dead in his tracks, looks down. He seems to shutter.
Apollo: Starbuck!
Starbuck looks over and sees the sober look on Apollo's face. He moves over and looks down as Apollo begins to put on some tight fitting gloves. A piece of metallic surface, highly scorched but out of which protrudes a foot-like extremity, except that it's tip is clearly in the shape of a cloven hoof. Apollo and Starbuck exchange heavy looks. Apollo bends down and tries to life the metal. As they lift it off, tossing it aside, they grimace in horror. Under the wreckage is the figure of a devil, a demon.
The networks decided to drop the scene with the cloven hoof for two reasons. The scene might be scary to younger audiences, and there were religious implications behind the scene (i.e. "satanic".) For audience members, the absence of the scene wrongly suggested that the warriors had peered inside the wreckage of Commander Cain's Battlestar Pegasus. As Count Iblis told Sheba, "Your father, you will see him again."
I remember that making me (and my Dad) so mad. We were like, "Well?! What the heck was in that ship?!?!!!"
It was an accurate portrayal of two things 1) the effects of a small nuclear blast at different distances and 2) the inflated sense of self importance in the media as it covers news events.

"Countdown to looking Glass" was a different made for TV movie. It portrayed the lead-up top a full scale nuclear war. It included a chilling scene where the U.S. fleet off the Persian Gulf is attacked with nuclear torpedoes from a Russian sub.
Bear in mind that this was 25 years, four jobs, six funerals, two marriages, graduate school, and several children ago.
