Just for kicks,
she smiles a smokey half smile
exhaling without guilt
looking up and contemplating
the uncomplaining constellations
without rancour or regret.
The one touch almost goal
fought thru low kicks
and danced upon a turf
with focus skill and sweat,
lofted with english and guile,
to put one on the board.
But still amused and pained
that the bored reported no score
and thinking it a shame
some don't understand
nil-nil is really a lovely outcome
cause its such a beautiful game.

sitting
for some time
tireless
tieless
shoeless
slumped in pillows
of solitude
he considered
her silence
and felt shame

love may
make the world
go round, but its gravidity
that makes it bulge
at the equator
