Cat fancies
Enchanted,
she haunted the
seductive invitation
of a curious cabinet
entranced
by the possibilities
of a door left ajar.
she was beguiled
by her own wondering
that enticed adventuring
among the relics
of collectible experiences
carefully, she picked
her way through
the fragile objects
secured with sticky gum
to the shelf against
just such a cataclysm.
the crystal, bone, and silver
bottles of indulgences,
oracles that were stoppered
to the emergency application
to unguents and emoluments,
had nothing to offer
outside themselves.
as the well oiled hinge
swung to the breeze of an errant breath
that silently shouldered shut the door
leaving her exit unsecured,
she mewed
for her master
to come and let her out
..
punctilious
strict sentence guidelines
free associates must pause
passing thru a phrase.
she thought
and i said
and she wanted
and i argued
and we agreed
on tomorrow
tomorrow's agreement
is another day's
arrangement
of light and line
curve and curiosity
captured in
a new eye for detail...
mirors
are the
consequence
of a soul
searching
for light
surrounded
by candles
String theory
My cat attacks a ball of twine
pushing it around the limits defined
by walls and furniture, impediments
that bend and shape the line
that records the history
of the singularity
of her intent.
She collides against
the watching vases innocent
of any sin but the accident
of existence and its diminishing reward;
the incidental galaxies
she casually crashes as offerings
to the laws of pulse and pause
that mark her energetic cause.
Locus of her determination,
her self-satisfaction recrudescent
the ball advances as it declines
and she will play it out
against the end of time
when the string or she is spent
and someone must rewind.
housekeepers
lament
repent
from pets
which refuse
to wipe
their feet
Paw Prince
leaves his train
of thoughts
to follow after him...
a trail of
trials
for chambermaids
and hall-boys
who hope to
erase any trace
of trespass
before the Mistress
returns
giggle....clawful, just clawful. I think we should cancel the oscars, it being a shameful party in a time of war...bwahahahahaha
Pride(Hollywood cats)
she consents to be a dent
in the carpet that submits
to energetic vacuuming
that erases all traces
of her presence in the tense
hurryup of making straight
the rumples of her brief
residence.
but she will make what she will take
and outwait the outrage
its what she wanted when she first
panted on a public page.
The gods we name we control
Taffy, the marmalade
cat regards me
with honey eyes yawns
and flows like maple syrup
over the odds stacked
against me, stretching
and spreading peanut butter paws
revealing teeth and claws
beneath the placid fur
of the mildly named entity .
The proscriptive prayer
that begs protection
is non-the-less offered
with appellations that appeal
to the hope of benediction
couched in sweet entreaties
to an armory described
by sticky pantry supplies.
I can only trust
that there is some benign suggestion
to being named for products
designed for human digestion.
Then what shall we sing
what bon mot shall we quip
for the poor offspring
who's dad named him Chip?
Or the girl pronounced silly
--'thru no fault of her own--
they named her Chantilly
'ere they brought her home.
Candy is dandy -
the dish of the week?
'tho Brandy seems handy
it doesn't sound chic
Safely call your girl Honey
if you're ever in doubt
Just don't name her Bunny
and I guess Fanny is out...
fashion able
well with cats
is a toss up
is it rhyme
or good reason,
I have a cat
named summer
which is always
in season.
(qui transtulit, sustinet)
Cat transit sustains
Camelot dystopia
divine right of kings
Two directions at the same time.

Rough drafts,
the cats tongue
slicks and smoothes the hairs
that seek their own direction
amiable and amenable
to self administered correction,
as if cats would care to edit
anyone but themselves

Sometimes Pansy
chases some certain
thing that I cant perceive,
and whirls like
a compass needle
confused
by a magnet,
and it amuses me
to watch as she sets
herself to spin,
but true direction
isnt needed
for a creature
who wouldnt care
to heed it.
a long circular argument should be condensed,
(as if Alice really had a restaurant)
Spring chirped a reminder
jolting the winter resistance
that lodged in the discarded
dark lamp of my heart
while the Cat , rubbed against
my legs stirring a response
as he eyed the unwary warbler
and refrained
from killing the messenger
keeping his secret safe;
and everyone got what
they wanted from my easily
dispensed can-opener grace.
this is particularly for you bf. It's just a sort of burning bright thingy. But I had fun with the idea
Aura
our amplified
images, enhanced
the ambience of our
existence, as we mantled
the green fire
of the iridescent
tapetum lucidum
and lit candles
to expanded views.
making more of ourselves
than we could perceive,
drawing each other
by the reflection
of cat eyes, we believed
we could actually
see in the dark.
Thank You, it's lovely.
Ah, just so damn lovely!
the joyous orbs
of bordeaux
sing just so
redden cheeks
and set aglow
a thousand mundane
moments without you
that are all about you
oracle
I have cast
all my philosophical
questions in the simple
form of yes or no,
and offered them
to my black cat ,
a furry eight ball that
may be stirred
but never shaken
for the answer
that he might make
according to the whims
of his satisfaction
a simple reply;
yes, no, maybe, bite me.
