Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban [the trailer is up, and it looks great]
MSNBC Entertainment ^

Posted on 11/18/2003 5:12:22 AM PST by Chancellor Palpatine

Opting for a producer-only role this time, director Chris Columbus passes the Harry Potter baton off to Alfonso Cuarón (Y Tu Mamá También) for Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, the third film in the series. Daniel Radcliffe returns as the bespectacled young wizard who is now in his third year at Hogwarts. After and incident that sees his anger get the best of him, Harry runs away from the school. Unfortunately, the magical wunderkind soon learns that Sirius Black (Gary Oldman) has escaped from Azkaban prison and is after him. Along with Oldman, the additions to the cast the third time around include David Thewlis and Michael Gambon, who assumes the role of Professor Albus Dumbledore, previously played by the late Richard Harris. ~ Matthew Tobey, All Movie Guide

Because she is fat, of course!

No, really. I seem to remember her letting someone into the Griffendor dorms by mistake. I may be wrong.

Anyhow, isn't it true that most people who use handicap parking spaces (fraudulently) are fat?

Do you actually have a Potter ping list? If so, put me on. I've been a fan since before it was cool to be a fan.

Trailer looks better than I'd dared hope. With the possible exception of Order of the Phoenix, Azkaban is the best of the books.

(And oh so embarassing to admit to other adults that haven't read these books!)

Don't feel bad. :) My best friend (a DC liberal) made a snide remark about having seen one of the books over at a friend's house and made a point of telling me that the book belonged to the friend's nine-year-old daughter when I told her I was an HP addict.

Chancellor, will you add me to the list too? Thanks!

I have absolutely no idea... if that's true, perhaps it's the extra stress on their joints?

Also, Harry's parents aren't dead. He didn't see the thestrils when he first got to Hogwart's.

Rowling has said in interviews that Harry's parents are dead - that he was too young, at 15 months, to realize what was going on, so he couldn't see the thestrals. It's also why he didn't see the thestrals on the way home last year - it took a while to sink in.

Unfortunately, James and Lily and now Sirius are really dead. She has an unpleasant habit of killing off characters I like.

here's a fun question. . .which (US) political parties do you think the characters in Harry Potter would be IF they were;
a) real
b) adults (for the minors)
c) US citizens

James Carvil as Voldemort - wouldn't need makeup
Condi Rice as Hermoine
George Bush as Ron
Clintoon as Draco
Michael Moore as Crab
Ahhhhhnold as Hagrid
Hillary!™ as Umbridge - tied with Rosie
Gray Davis as Flitwick
Martha Stewart as McGonnigal
Britany Spears as Fleur dela Cour
Barbra Streisand as Luna Lovejoy - has the deer-in-the-headlights look down pat

LMAO!

Loved your choices, especially Carville! But who should we nominate to be Harry? JimRob? (I'm KIDDING!)

Seriously, as someone trying to do good and fight against an entrenched and evil enemy, Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson would not be a bad choice.

Your Humble Servant...

I haven't figured out who would be Harry yet.

I want to change Draco, clintoon just doesn't have the horsepower for the character. Lockeheart is a better match.

Go go go! Lockheart is definitely a better match!
I also am obliged to say I think Brittney might be a little to. . .earthy. . .for Fleur (pretty though she is, I can't recall the mention of belly baring robes. . . )
And no self respecting hero would sit in the same train carriage as Barbra!!! LOL. . .however, so far, I am nodding my head and laughing at all of the other suggestions! Keep going!!!
