It does make you wonder if somewhere in the world there is someone taking a snow day from school....

He is not responding to you. He is responding to this person who is challenging him:

So, EOM, you the great network administrator likes to play pranks on uninformed computer users. Well, riddle me this, my moon worshiping buddy.

If you're so good, track me down and infiltrate my puter, let's see how good you are. I'll be waiting.

Thanks fellow LIer! It's your fault, oceanview. ;)

Perhaps Sean can let us know if it could be a true EOM post and not a joker.

oceanview: Back in the early part of 2002 I believe it was -- the media was heavily reporting on some of the finds in Afghanistan caves. At least one article stated that a Newsday article was found dated in April of 2001! The media outlet did not specify if this was an Internet printout or not, so we can assume it was a tear sheet. The outlet also did not specify what the article was about. I remember trying to search the Newsday archives and there seemed to be no real big international news except for the usual -- at the time -- fighting in Israel and talks of peace plans. But who knows what the article was about...maybe it was an advertisement or a piece on a more local article topic.

Anyway, the thing to remember is that at that time -- April of 2001 -- Newsday had stopped printing a separate NYC edition called New York Newsday. It was Long Island Newsday really. But the person who brought the Newsday article there or sent it there, could have picked it up in NYC also. Now, Newsday has resumed a city edition I believe.

I always found the article find interesting.
