I don't get why the level is being lowered.

Perhaps things aren't as bad as we all seem to think?

IMHO, a lot of our concern is off of unsubstantiated 'net postings. (EOM, Daleel, etc). Maybe the feds know this is just jihad-wannabees messing around with big talk, and that the "real" terrorists are being taken out/controlled.

I know for myself that I was unaware of the seriousness of the threat until I started reading more here and elsewhere (homelandsecurity, stevequayle, etc). Maybe the gov't doesn't take that info seriously and they know more than we give them credit for?

Either way..I will be glad to see the level lowered. It gives me a sense that maybe the gov't DOES know what they are doing after all (sometimes I doubt this!)

the gov't doesn't take that info seriously

What they don't take serious are the color coded levels, most of what is said here is claimed by them 2 weeks to a month later
