A CHILEAN passenger has been detained on a flight from Madrid to London after he was found to be in possession of two knives.
Spanish police today said the unnamed man was removed from an EasyJet flight which eventually left for London 70 minutes late.
According to police, the man was carrying two penknives and was making "references to the end of the world" just minutes before takeoff from Madrid's Barajas international airport.
The plane's captain aborted takeoff and called police, who removed the Chilean.
Media reports quoted police as saying the two penknives were enclosed in plastic casing and had passed undetected through electronic airport security.
