I'll state the following. I work for a company in New Jersey. We employ a number of Muslims who are quite nice, friendly folks.

Two of them demanded to have next week off for Ramadan. It is our busy season and we don't generally allow vacations during this period.

Why don't you ask them what are the "most special" days in the Ramadan season?

If they say the 9th and the 23rd, well....
