What is the Maximum distance Raidoactive Material can be detected; either on the ground/air or water if un-shielded? There will be more learned responses, but gamma rays will continue on indefinitely, as will neutrons and other particles (until they hit something, such as a gamma-ray detector). WIdely rumored that U.S. satellites have the ability to detect emissions of fission/fusion weapons on the ground.
