Musharraf is resigning from his Army post and retiring from the Army but is continuing on as a civilian president.
I fear he won't last long once he cashiers his military uniform. His position as Army Chief of Staff gives him a closer eye on the Pakistani military and prevents a coup d'etat against him from radical elements of the Army as well as the ISI.

Well, I think the odds have been against him from jump street. He is overwhelmed with the amount of terrorism and in the minority in dealing with it. Like Anwar , I don't think he'll survive this, I am sorry to say.
