This is crazy. I do hope they search them thoroughly, but even that isn't sufficient, if they are already close to the airport, they could detonate it right there -- especially if it's a nuke or dirty bomb.

My thoughts EXACTLY! I live near LAX, the majority of taxi cab drivers seem to be of Middle Eastern Descent.

The CNN reporter at LAX was pointing out the line of orange cones placed outside the terminal to prevent curbside passenger dropoff when a white van pulled up to drop off passengers. Nobody stopped the van, although the reporter noted that it was not allowed to be there.

Terror fear hits Paris-LA flights - US officials were concerned by names on passenger lists Air France has cancelled six flights between Paris and Los Angeles amid fears of a terror attack. Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin ordered the move after US intelligence suggested al-Qaeda members posing a "credible threat" were due to board. The cancelled services were to fly between Charles de Gaulle airport and Los Angeles on Wednesday and Thursday.
