Al-Qaeda "squads" are generally cells set up along the lines of how the trainees were organized in the Afghan camps. For example, the guys who blew up the US Embassy in 1998 had a suicide videotape saying that he was from the "3rd Squad of the al-Bara bin Malik Martyr's Division," that last one being reference to one of the barracks at al-Farooq camp.
