NEWS BRIEF: "Nabil Almarabh, 36, who was the object of a manhunt after the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, was deported Wednesday to Syria, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said Friday.
Almarabh was arrested in suburban Chicago on Sept. 19, 2001, two days after FBI agents raided his former flat in southwest Detroit. Agents arrested three men, two of whom were convicted last year in a terrorism case in U.S. District Court in Detroit.
Almarabh, who was in the United States illegally, was ordered deported in October by Detroit Immigration Judge Robert Newberry. Almarabh decided not to appeal."
