Chief Polly Hanson says the gunfire was heard at about 2:30 Wednesday afternoon in the 47-hundred block of Minnesota Avenue. The veteran officer was in his marked car at the time, in uniform, on an auto theft patrol when he reported hearing something whiz through the air and determined it was gunfire."
