I have come to the conclusion that our chain is being jerked allot. I have plans made and supplies stored (as best I can if there is a problem) and now am going about my life and not sweating the what ifs. I they keep me in as state of what if they would have won just by doing nothing. Just my 2 cents.

That is how I am handling it. I have supplied on hand, and emergency plans in place for contacting family and friends. I stay informed, I try and contribute translations and analyses because God gave me those talents, I believe, for a reason. So I offer them. But I refuse to sit around afraid. My husband cannot understand how I can do these translations and not be in a constant state of anxiety. I pointed out to him that this is a huge country and the chances of something impacting me or him or one of the kids personally is slim to none. So I'm not going to stress about it.

Now there are some times, like around New Years, and the end of Ramadan, Sunday, and today, when I do stress a little more than I should. Those are the days when I wish I didn't understand Arabic.

But the bottom line is, it's all in God's hands, not ours.

I started lurking on this thread at about 7K. Every thousand posts or so, I say the same thing. AQ has zip, nada, bukus.

How many of these crazy imminent attack threads must we endure before someone calls them bullshit. EVERY day is the THE day.

These people attacked us with box cutters 2+ years ago. Now, we think they have nukes and sleeper agents. Get reel. They are still working on indoor plumbing in most parts of their world. It is the year 1424 in their world because, they live like it was 1424.

Now -- we might suffer a random suicide bombing, but I would not worry about sitting in the cave of Darkness. That is where Osama is!

Heartily agree! We've heard for MONTHS how we are "all going to die soon". Yet, time ticks on, and we are all still here - and I wager will be 12 months as well as 12 years from now.

I am not discounting the overall threat, and think that AQ probably DOES have WMD. But I think we've foiled many potential attacks and will continue to do so.

I also think there's a whole lot of crackpots just posting to 'net BBs as they don't have any other way to hit us. That, and people who outright hate the US and just want to scare us into submission (hint: it's not working). Finally, I think there are (sadly) also people who run "analysis" websites who have other motivations for helping to stir the pot up a bit.

All of this contributes to a high noise/signal ratio, IMHO, although we certainly have to take a look at everything and consider it fully.

That's a good attitude CR. Keep eyes & ears open. Prepare as best you can. We don't know what will happen tommorrow or two years from now. Can't hide in the closet.

We are carrying on too with much normalcy. Planned for a normal Y2K type or any natural disaster, 3 days supply and some extras. But I only think about this stuff when I'm on the thread -g-
