Living here, the nuclear reactors have been a constant worry for me. it was worrisome even before the current terrorist threat. it's rather unsettling to be fishing for walleye on a warm summer evening and look up to see two nuclear reactors, one on each shoreline (ohio shore and michigan shore). a boat on lake erie could hit both of them from the same location with a rocket munition. canada is just a proverbial stone's throw across lake erie.

I don't think that you have to worry about nuclear reactors unless someone got inside the plant with the help of our police and military. I have read, and maybe someone can help me with the source(s), that tests have been done by flying a 747 into cement wall that is similar to that around a reactor. The crash had no affect the simulated core and no release of simulated nuclear radiation was found.

Ten miles from one myself but I'd worry more if we were in Russia...they had Chernoble and we had Three Mile Island and one was obviously worse than the other. As the Rumsfeld quote states..."we find all the plots", but we shouldn't "what if" ourselves into panic, just stay alert and stay in prayer.

I found an interesting report on nuclear plants' ability to withstand an aerial attack. Very informative, brought up points that I hadn't considered or read about before.

I am referring to the second article on the page.
The first one is a rather touching reflection on the WTC destruction.
