In terms of the word "Tahiya", I ran across this:

Orissa is a state in north eastern India, the language spoken there is Orissan (I think sometimes called Oriyan?). That is the sum total of my knowledge about it, except that most languages in India (and elsewhere, actually) stem from Sanskrit.
