I think it is a worse sign that we went to yellow

Just curious..why?

Call me old fashioned and trusting, but I sure would think that if there WERE nukes and we were about to lose a city or more that we would be at RED and that the "good guys" would care more about human life than politics or expenses.

IMHO, we'd have NEST teams going door-to-door. We'd be torturing AQ prisoners (yes, off-shore). There would be MUCH going on. You don't just sit back and let someone take out a city, unless you REALLY want political problems..

There are a lot of ways to detect stray gamma radiation that indicate radiological weapons without going door to door. Thats the good thing. I wont go into houw it can be done, but rest assured it is being done when threats are percieved.

Environmental monitoring can be done in a lot of ways.

This is only my gut feeling my opnion

But I believe it was subterfuge. I think the government wants them to believe they are being complacent to draw them out.

If they went to red, what would they do? Evacuate NYC, LA and DC to tent cities? There isn't much they can do except to put the shields up as much as possible and keep on truckin'.
