Following days of riots, violence, arson, buildings destroyed and mass looting, French President Emmanuel Macron delivered a national address to the people of France. Remarkably, in the beginning of his remarks Macron says no one in the French government understands what is happening, but he is demanding an investigation.
A few paragraphs into the prepared transcript and Macron says high fuel prices driven by President Trump’s war against Iran, “a war we had nothing to do with,” is certainly the cause of the protests that have mysteriously turned violent for some unknown reason. Macron further notes those protests are righteous, justified and he agrees with them.
This is quite a remarkable address. WATCH:
The image below represents the entire dynamic.
FRANCE – France’s President Emmanuel Macron addressed the nation on Sunday evening as communities reeled from one of the most violent nights of unrest in recent years after largely peaceful anti-government protests descended into rioting, leaving government buildings torched, one police officer and one protester dead.
Macron said that the full force of the law would be brought to bear on those who had damaged property or participated in rioting.
“Those who looted will have to pay back for the damage,” Macron said, according a translation from the AP. “And those who sought to bring down the Republic will be held accountable.”
The president allowed that the government should listen to public grievances, and said that he would hold an emergency meeting with French mayors to discuss public safety tomorrow. Macron also said that he had asked the government to convene stakeholders – including students, teachers, trade unionists and others – this week to discuss “concrete proposals,” according to a readout from Reuters.
There were at least two deaths connected to rioting and protests over the weekend. A 22-year-old police officer died after being “struck by a third-party vehicle” in the city of Nantes, about 250 miles southwest of Paris, France’s Interior Minister Laurent Nunez said. (read more)

The transcript presents a televised address by French President Emmanuel Macron in response to widespread violent unrest across mainland France and its overseas territories. Macron attributes the violence to far-left groups joined by criminals and delinquents, while distinguishing violent rioters from peaceful demonstrators with legitimate grievances.
Violence and law enforcement
Macron condemns attacks on shops, public buildings, and government facilities, including the reported burning of Limoges's town hall and an attack on the prefect's residence in Bordeaux.
He expresses solidarity with hundreds of injured police personnel, elected officials, and business owners whose property was damaged or destroyed.
He promises government assistance for affected businesses and announces a crisis unit led by the prime minister.
He calls for rapid investigations, lawful prosecutions, and restitution by looters for their crimes, insisting that there will be no impunity.
Economic grievances and public discontent
Macron acknowledges public anger over rising fuel prices, attributing the increases to a war in the Persian Gulf in which France was not involved.
He says he will travel to Gulf states to discuss the situation and that the government is pursuing measures to address fuel supplies, prices, and household purchasing power.
He also recognizes young people's anxiety about their economic prospects, careers, and future role in society. The government plans discussions involving students, educators, employers, local officials, and parliamentarians to develop practical responses.
Public order and political responsibility
Local prefects and mayors will coordinate protective measures, including banning certain gatherings when necessary.
Macron urges political parties, unions, and professional organizations to condemn violence and encourage calm.
He insists that legitimate protest must remain distinct from looting and rioting, arguing that public grievances should be addressed through dialogue and democratic institutions rather than street violence.
Upcoming elections
The address concludes with an appeal to democratic participation ahead of elections expected in six months. Macron argues that France's political future must be decided through public debate, journalism, meetings, and elections—not violence or attacks on the Republic.
Central message: Macron seeks to combine a firm law-and-order response with acknowledgment of the economic and social grievances driving public discontent. He promises punishment for criminal acts while pledging dialogue and policy measures to address fuel costs, purchasing power, and young people's concerns.
In other words: Absolutely nothing will happen to the rioters.
Darn right President Trump is to blame
Trump is once again the great exposer who demonstrated to the world that the “migrant “ invasion is scam and all the complexities and nuances that the EU leaders use to bluff, baffle and bullshit their voters are a fraud and an assault on their people
Most important, President Trumps has onclusivly proven that the borders can be sealed and the illegal alien invasion can be shut down overnight if the leaders want to stop the invasion
The problem is that the EU leaders want the invasion to continue
Not on the right side politically but still the song title is in the thread.

Don’t punish me with brutality
Talk to me
So you can see
Oh, what’s going on
What’s going on.
What’s going on.
“Those who looted will have to pay back for the damage,”
So, they’re not going to prison?
So will looting, burning an historic building down and brutalizing and terrorizing innocent old people bring improved school supplies and school conditions?
Time for whatever good people are left over there to arm themselves and fight the Left.
I thought it was the Bee!
Wow. It’s hard to imagine a more mewling response. I’ll give him a tip because I know what’s going on: The Islamo -Commies are warming up to overthrow the government, genius. Attempting to placate them without credibly threatening the sternest possible consequences for lawlessness just plays into their hands
RE: pay for looting....
Just charge it on dad’s credit card. “What’s in your wallet?”

He doesn’t understand what’s happening? Of course he does. He just has no will to stop it. The govt could actually be overthrown if he doesn’t send in the army.
They don’t want to be called racists and Islamophobes like Trump is called every single day.
