The Senate Judiciary Committee announced Friday that former Special Counsel Jack Smith will testify in front of the panel next week about his Arctic Frost investigation.
Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley has led the Senate's investigation into Smith and his alleged efforts to prosecute President Donald Trump and his allies, which included the revelation that Smith subpoenaed phone records of multiple GOP lawmakers during the Arctic Frost investigation.
Smith will now testify in front of the panel on Tuesday, Sept. 29.
"Jack Smith must answer for what he did to hundreds of Republican groups and individuals," Grassley said in a statement. "The records made public to-date show rampant abuse of authority and political targeting – all on the taxpayers’ dime.
"If Jack Smith did that to Democrats, you’d never hear the end of it," he continued. "I look forward to achieving some accountability on the part of the misguided Biden Justice Department."
The committee hearing will take place in the Hart Senate Office Building and will begin at 9 a.m. Eastern.
