Voting Experience
17 Mar 26 | EVO X

Thought I would start a thread about voter experiences today in Illinois. Were there any major delays in opening the polls at 6:00 AM? Were there any problems with the equipment setup or equipment malfunctioning? I had neither, but what I did notice is this time around signing for an in person ballot changed. Instead of signing a paper log book, I had to do an iPad scribble...

Thanks for the heads-up. We are just getting ready to go vote and run some errands. I’ll keep an eye out for anything different. We’re in Eric Sorenson’s district (unfortunately).

Poll watching. Low turnout.

The question I have on signing for ballots, is how is this possible for the software and election officials to evaluate scribbles before issuing a ballot?

“Instead of signing a paper log book, I had to do an iPad scribble...”

Usually a plausibly deniable signature.

Upon further reflection my voting signature was converted to digital. Not cool INHO. We know from Bush vs Gore that election official don’t know how to empty out chad trays, let alone run modern day election systems..

In Florida, I have to sign a digital pad as well as have my drivers license inserted into the machine for comparison. The SAVE America act should have been modeled after Florida’s election rules. Mail-in ballotting is allowed, but only after requesting the ballot which includes identification and has safeguards.

Whenever Trump mentions the SAVE America act, he says “no Mail-in voting except. … and then names several categories where it is allowed. It should say mail-in voting only upon request, and then list the requirements for it. The big problem is not mail-in voting. The big problem is mass mailing out of ballots.

I voted at about 11:30AM. I walked into the polling place and was the only person there, except for the election workers. I told them what precinct I was in, they had me sign on paper with a pen. I took the ballot, filled in the little ovals with ink and put it into the ballot collector. Like always. Who knows what happens then is anybody’s guess.

“Who knows what happens then is anybody’s guess.”

If you consider what happened at The Battle Of Athens (TN), what happens next can be really bad.

I don’t know if we have the guts to pull that off in this day and age. The “Press” would crucify the people trying to right wrongs and proclaim the cheaters as victims.

I have never signed anything when voting in Illinois. I give them my name. They look it up in the little book, and then I go vote.

I was the first person in when the polls opened. The regular paper size printer wasn’t working yet, so I decided to go with a machine ballot. After signing for the ballot, I walked over to the machine and inserted the elongated piece of paper. It was mostly empty except for a header at the top. I proceeded to vote and the ballot ejected from the machine. I then waked the ballot to the tabulator machine. There 2 slots on the machine. 1 for full size paper ballot and another for the elongated ballot.

That is why republicans can’t win anything state wide these days. I’ve always signed for my ballot after giving them my name and address.
