I am following with deep concern what is happening in the Middle East and in Iran during this tumultuous time. Stability and peace are not achieved through mutual threats, nor through the use of weapons, which sow destruction, suffering, and death, but only through reasonable, sincere, and responsible dialogue.
yeah whatever.............
Guess the pope is not big on history. I am pretty sure it was weapons and threat of annihilation that brought about peace in the end.
Catholics should be deeply concerned that the pope isn’t Catholic.
Oh shut up, Pope. Stay in your own lane.
If I were Catholic I’m not sure I’d admit it with this guy as Pope
I wonder if he is familiar with The Crusades?
nice sentiment but alas, irrelevant to the islamic world
Interesting this pope has little to say for the 10’s of thousands murdered by the Iranian Regime in the last several weeks and all the displaced Iranians fleeing from terror.
No instead he chooses to support the very tyrannical organization responsible for those atrocities with such language.
What if one side views dialogue only as a stalling tactic to put itself in a position to destroy you, Leo?
In the 1950s when my Catholic mom married my Protestant dad they condemned her to hell. And me also. So there is that.
Again, the pope is stepping out of his purview.
Does this pope even read history?
Ahhhhhh, SHAAADDUPPP!!!
Does anybody take these Popes seriously anymore?
Did he get that off a bumper sticker?
I can’t think of a time when peace was established in the manner he discussed.
It always comes down to armed conflict or one side just collapsing and giving up.
Dear pope, avoid visit to Iran so long as mullah regime is in power. You are just a kafir to be converted or killed.
Says the guy living behind a wall and protected by guns.
He has no idea what it takes to keep the peace.
According this dumpster fire he think we should remove the police and military because just being nice to bad guys is enough to keep them from being bad guys.
