Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, reportedly is considering a 2028 presidential run, which could put him on a collision course with Vice President JD Vance.
Cruz privately has been signaling to allies that he's hearing growing encouragement to jump into the next open Republican primary, as the party begins to look past President Donald Trump's second term, The Washington Post reported Monday.
Cruz's deliberations, the newspaper said, have intensified as he positions himself as a leading voice for a more traditional, hawkish GOP foreign policy — and as he wages an increasingly public feud with influential MAGA media figure Tucker Carlson.

Lyin' Ted wants to overturn MAGA with neoconservatism.
Just stay home Ted. We have a great deal of animus toward you that we would like to keep in check.

Can’t we get thru until at least mid-terms before the signs start going back up?

I think USSC would be Ted’s best course.

I’m leaning heavily towards a Vance/Rubio ticket right now. 2028’s a long way off though — politically speaking. Anything can change. Just where I’m at right now.

Ted Cruz has ZERO charisma. The idea that he would even consider a run for president shows how divorced these perfumed legislative princes are from reality.
Perhaps he could be a supreme court justice.

I am sure Ron DeSantis is making plans to run. His mission statement last time was that a vote for him was a vote for Trump without Trump.

Seems like a good time to remind everyone that Cruz’s 2016 “running mate” voted for Biden in 2020.

Can’t we get thru until at least mid-terms before the signs start going back up? I'd say "I'm with you!" were I still in Illinois where it was just a sea of blue Democrat signs where I lived. But now that I'm in Tennessee and having deliberately moved into a heavily RED voting area, I can't wait for the signs to go back up, LOL!!

Ted has consistently been one of the better senators, IMO, so I won’t join the silly bashing. That being said, I’m fully behind Vance on ‘08.

“Ted Cruz has ZERO charisma.”
He has SOME charisma. The same amount as the ping pong ball my cats are playing with. 1% charisma.

Ted Cruz, like Vivek would have to overcome his fear of speaking into a microphone while a camera is on. That shyness of his holds him back. /S

Not many.
And JD Vance is not among them.
