Trump: Arrest Wray, Garland, 'And Many Others' for Mar-a-Lago Raid
Newsmax ^ | December 17, 2025 | Sandy Fitzgerald

President Donald Trump late Tuesday night railed against the 2022 raid on his Mar-a-Lago estate, calling the FBI's action an "unreasonable search and seizure" and agreeing with a follower's social media post calling for the arrests of former FBI Director Christopher Wray and former Attorney General Merrick Garland.

"Unreasonable Search and Seizure!!! That was the FBI's CRIMINAL RAID on Mar-a-Lago. This can never be allowed to happen again!!!," Trump posted on Truth Social.

And when a follower under the name of @Jay_Anthony45 said that "Someone should be arrested. Wray & Garland," Trump responded, "and many others!!!"

Earlier on Tuesday, Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, released newly declassified emails that showed FBI agents didn't believe they had the authority to raid Trump's property in Florida in August 2022, but were pressured to take action by then-President Joe Biden's Justice Department.

"Received shocking new docs today from DOJ & FBI showing FBI DID NOT BELIEVE IT HAD PROBABLE CAUSE to raid Pres Trump's Mar-a-Lago home but Biden DOJ pushed for it anyway," Grassley said in a post on X Tuesday. "Based on the records Mar-a-Lago raid was a miscarriage of justice."

He also posted communications that had taken place between the FBI and Justice Department officials in the weeks before the raid, dated from June 2022 through shortly before the raid, which took place on Aug. 8, 2022.

In the documentation, the FBI's Washington Field Office, referred to as "WFO," said that it "does not believe" that "we have established probable cause for the search warrant for classified records" at Mar-a-Lago.

FBI Director Kash Patel on Tuesday confirmed reports that the raid took place despite internal concerns that probable cause for the search warrant had not been established.

They have nothing to worry about; some anti-Trump judge will let them go due to lack of (?) whatever.

More or bigger jails don’t mean much unless our justice system utilizes what we have.

Massaging supporters instead of taking action saying the right words very empty in the end it seems.

With Pam Bondi as Attorney General, it ain’t happening.

There are simply too many Biden and Obama holdovers in the DOJ. Critical replacements have been blocked by the Democrat-controlled Senate. The DOJ is very short-staffed with reliable people who are willing to indict Democrat criminals.

And we all know that in Washington DC, "it's not a crime when a Democrat does it".

Oh wait! You say that the Republicans control the Senate? Then why do they keep yielding to the Democrats? A Senate recess would allow Trump to appoint people to the DOJ and FBI and the Secret Service and the Treasury. Or the Republicans could eliminate the filibuster for all such appointments and put PAID to the problem.

It is what the Democrats will do if they get control of the Senate again. They are very upfront about this.

Republican Congressmen are the problem. They are under the delusion they can coexist with the Democrats. That deal has changed.

My county jail is 60% empty. They have closed the top floors of the building. Ooh! Look at all the money they are saving!

We have a Soros-backed DA who releases criminals as part of a "restorative justice" orientation. The criminals are supposed to pay back their victims.

With what? Well, with the proceeds from new burglaries and thefts, as it turns out. Rinse, lather, and repeat.

Yes, and she refuses to fire them.

Yes, and she refuses to fire them.

She has gotten rid of over 200 lawyers in DOJ. She cannot replace them with Trump loyalists. She is short-staffed and has indeed been unable to fire some key resisters. The DOJ is not fully under her control.

She may not be able to get the department under control either. It is not necessarily a question of replacing Bondi. The department head, whoever that may be, must be able to hire and fire at will to make real improvements.

Congress is not allowing that. Why, it's almost like the Republicans are really junior Democrats and are not supporting a Republican President at all.

She can in fact fire them. And if she can’t, she can sideline them, shift them off to North Dakato.

The Senate certainly doesn’t think Trump needs his D A’s to run the government.

The fiasco over the Epstein files reveals her tenous grip on reality.

The fiasco over the Epstein files reveals her tenuous grip on reality.

That was truly incompetence on display. She announced a breaking news event ("The Epstein files are on my desk") that was simply false and easily disproved. She could not deliver what she said she had.

No, I am not a fan of Bondi.

Neither Bondi nor Patel have sufficient control over their respective organizations to do the jobs as directed by the President. Replacing them will bring many of us a vengeful satisfaction and put two new people into the hot seats to become similar targets of criticism.

And nothing will change.

The way that works to reform a large, dysfunctional bureaucracy is mass firings and budget cuts. That is the only thing that works. We have seen some of that. We have not seen enough of it. Congress (both Democrats and Republicans) resist effective measures at every step.

Trump loves to tell his adoring fans what needs to be done instead of ORDERING the people he hired to do these things what they need to do.

It's hard to accept the allegations that Trump has no real power over the DoJ but his words keep confirming it.

“Neither Bondi nor Patel have sufficient control over their respective organizations”

What amazed me is the way Patel talked when he arrived on scene for the Kirk assassination. He used it as a platform to brag on the FBI, etc., how much he liked being the director. To me that is so odd for him to say that in that context. It seemed he was kissing up to the ones who really control the FBI. Kissing up instead of firing their sorry asses.
