Why are these companies getting let off the hook?

This guy did not purchase his own truck

The DMV is out of control but the government is out of control esp in that state.

If they’d start charging companies with criminal violations and issuing large fines, it would reduce the number of these instances. However, I saw an article yesterday where a truck driver removed the magnetic sign on his truck door and replaced it with another one (with another name) after being charged with a moving violation.

“Why are these companies getting let off the hook?”

almost all of these “companies” are nothing more than a guy who has a tiny office and a desk and a telephone and the guy who owns it answers the telephone himself, and maybe has a little website ... these “companies” sub out ALL of their hauling jobs to illegals with their own trucks ... and these companies are like cockroaches: stamp out a few and another dozen take their place ... and it’s not just auto hauling, it’s ALL small hauling jobs ... most of the legit companies
were long ago driven out of business by cut-rate illegal haulers ...

https://www.google.com/search?q=bankrupt+trucking+companies

do note that the liars at google list all of the reasons for failures except the ACTUAL reason: cut-rate illegal haulers ..

You are correct. Trucking companies hire these people because they are cheaper. These companies have responsibility for the havoc THEY create. Aside from direct costs of these accidents they need to be fined for willing hiring substandard and often illegal drivers.

I am a pilot and if I went to a new FBO and tried to rent an aircraft they would happily do so, after I took a check ride with them and not before.
