Friends,
This week’s shooting of two National Guard members by a gunman identified by the authorities as an Afghan national was horrific.
But Trump’s response has been disproportionate and bigoted. He vows to “permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries.” He intends to deport legal immigrants born in countries the White House deems “high risk.”

The only thing Bobby Third Reich just proved is how dumb he is.
Who were?
Robert B. Reichhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh-shuh!
I see Very Little Bob Reich is still among us.
“”””I see Very Little Bob Reich is still among us.””””
I just read the comments and see I was not the only one to comment on Reich’s diminutive stature.
We have quite a pair of anti-Trump Little Guys.
JOHN BOLTON and ROBERT REICH
Both are dealing with their mental anguish that Trump is like 6 feet 3 inches and they have to look at the belly buttons on
men who are over 6 feet tall.
Reich is always eager to show he is an intellectual juvenile.
The old “we are all immigrants” argument is conflation at its best.
Yes, we are all immigrants but are we all illegal immigrants? Did some of us commit serious crimes in our native countries and gain release just so said countries could empty their jails of serious criminals? Did we all just expect free education, healthcare and food assistance? Did we all arrive and look to implement our own legal systems and supersede that of the United States?
I don’t like the term, ‘Native American’. Anyone born here is a Native American.
The term for American Indians should be ‘Aboriginal Americans’ or ‘Indigenous Americans’.
I realize that ‘Indian’ was a historical mistake, Columbus thought he was in the Indies, so he called the people he encountered ‘Indians’. Because he miscalculated the size of the earth, he encountered islands just as Marco Polo described as being off the coast pretty much where Columbus expected them to be.
That said, ‘Native American’ is no better since anyone born here is a Native American if words mean anything. Unfortunately, ‘Aborigine’ was already taken by the time anyone started objecting to the word ‘Indian’. The term caused no harm to them for half a millennium.
Also, ‘Injun’ isn’t a slur or a mark of ignorance, since the letter J didn’t become part of the English alphabet until after the Discovery, the letter I was used as both a vowel and and a consonant.
I have been in studies of our local history in the late 1770’s.
It was learned that in 1763 the King of England realized a separation of his subjects needed to be made. The lime separating the colonies from the Indian lands was the line of the Allegheny mountains. The Royal Decree of 1763 was a big deal and caused all kinds of problem ajusting to it. The main problem was that nobody knew precisely where the line was on the map.
The crown used the term aborigines to define the Indian subjects. I was somewhat amazed to learn that the Cherokee, especially the Overhill Cherokee acknowledges that they were in fact subjects of King George III.
Recently my husband was checking Family Search and was surprised to find that my 5X great grandfather signed the Declaration of Independence.
It was through the female line back to my gg grandmother, then the male line back to the Signer.
Thanks for demonstrating your futility, you has-been. You were a flunky in the Dept of labor, explains a lot.
MY DEAREST ROBERT, PLEASE NOTE:
Section 212(f) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) grants the U.S. President the authority to suspend the entry of any aliens or class of aliens if their entry is found to be detrimental to the interests of the United States. This power has been used by various presidential administrations to impose travel restrictions based on factors like national security, public health (e.g., COVID-19), or objectionable conduct, often via presidential proclamation.
I don’t think I’ve ever quoted Reagan before.

Of course not, because you’re a partisan hack.
The only reason you’re going to such lengths is that you realize Trump is on the cusp of defeating something that is very important to you. Namely, he’s about to tear down the lie that this country has to accept uncontrolled immigration.
BTW, we’re not fooled by your flowery language about immigration and the American ideal. For you, immigration is a political power grab and nothing more, no matter how you try to dress it up.
I’ll always pronounce his name that way.
Nope. Twenty three ancestors fought in the American Revolution from both my maternal and paternal sides, mostly farmers who joined militias.
Shorty doesn’t know what the word “immigrant” means. He’s just another looney from the Clintoon Clown era.
Remember, Robert Reich and other libtards from the past, were friends of so called conservative Michael Medved.
Even the injuns were immigrants...
The crossing over the Bering land bridge brought newcomers to all of North America. 18,000-c. 11,000 b.c.e.
Should have been kicked out for being immigrants.
Calling President Trump a bigot is slander.
