I see the claim of Schmer being senile, as yet a different use of deflection, to be honest. Anything that changes the topic away from the original question is designed to make people forget about the original quarion that was asked. For then, people may get confused as to what the actual question was, but they remember Schmuer's answer asking what does Trump have to hide.

Most people do not really pay full attention. inclding me at times. If they miss key words, then they can become easily confused & misdirected by the "answer" provided.

Is Schumer as sharp as he onece was? I personally have no clue. What I do know, is that he currently is being attcked a lot more than he has ever been attacked. But that is because the Democrat supporters want something new. They are becmoming disillusioned by them, just as Republican supporters had finally given up on the RINO variety of yhe do nothing Republican Party. The Democrats are also becoming more & more less responsive to Jewish concerns, and like other citizens Democrats are replacing their falling support with illegal immigrants. But instead ofrunning to Trump, they are looking for somethinh new.

If antyhing, Schmer is desperate, in my opinion, even if there might be hane some degree of diminshed mental capvity, bu is not of a signigicant fegree.
