“How to Spot Saboteurs In K-12”
Just find the teachers.
Look for the tall person in the front of the room.
“you have to memorize each word by itself, as a visual shape (such as a currency symbol). Quite silly”
It’s not silly at all.
tuvalet toilet
Once a Turkish child sees tuv, the child knows what the word is likely to mean.
This guessing is the basis of speed reading.
güneş
Once a Turkish child sees gün, the child can then usually determine the meaning of the word from the few common possibilities. The ending eş indicates the word means sun....
gün day günahkar sinner güncel up-to-date; current[event] gündem agenda doğum günü birthday güneş sun güney south günlük daily[rate]
geç late
geçerli latest/current[version]; valid
The l as the second last letter means the word is likely to be an adjective. A following vowel makes that extremely likely.
The first three letters suggest a meaning compatible with late, but valid is also a possible meaning. The exact meaning will be based on other words in the sentence.
fırça brush fırın oven; bakery fırsat opportunity fırtına storm
If one is reading a cookbook in Turkish, one generally only has to recognize the letters fır.
“The sabotage of K-12 education is easily implemented by rejecting methods that work, while simultaneously forcing phony substitutes into classrooms.”

This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
