These far left Hamas sympathizers have been allowed to run rampant on university campuses in Canada (by the campus so-called authorities). Away from that setting, there are very few other ordinary Canadian leftists who seem to care about this issue, so unless you’re on campus you never run into anyone like this. It’s not like Canadian society is otherwise overrun by anti-Israeli sentiment, to be quite frank about it, most people have more important concerns than the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which seems to be a magnet for extremists of many different stripes, all clearly having no interest in dialogue or giving ground in the slightest, so they are easy to ignore.
I’m definitely towards the Christian Zionist end of the spectrum myself but I would still like to see a just solution, realizing that with the sort of leadership the Palestinians have, this can never happen. Israel knows this and aren’t that concerned about a just solution, I think their attitude is, let’s get rid of them one at a time over as long a period as it takes, and stay as safe as we can.
The only opportunity for a real solution to this came and went in the 1990s. But these screeching leftists don’t know much history, much religion or much anything, somebody wound them up like robots and this is what robots do, until forced to stop doing it.
They got arrested, fwiw.
