Tucker Carlson mounted a full-throated defense of New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani (D) in Thursday morning’s edition of the former Fox News host’s newsletter.
Under the sub-header, “Jews for Mamdani,” Carlson wrote the following:
"You saw the campaign attacks against Zohran Mamdani.
He’s a socialist! True.
He’s a communist! Possibly true.
He’s an antisemite! Wait, what?
Is the incoming mayor a fan of Israel? Does he want America to fight its wars? Not particularly. But a Jew hater? That’s a different conversation. We’ve never seen anything to suggest he falls into that ugly camp. Because he doesn’t. He plainly said so yesterday, during his victory speech, and numerous times throughout the summer and fall.
That didn’t stop the ethno-narcissists from slandering him as some sort of dark force plotting to install the Fourth Reich in America’s largest city."
Carlson went on to argue that “The Jewish voters who backed Mamdani did so because they knew the antisemite attacks were lies. They had the brains to see through the bullshit,” and that “America’s Israel First caucus needs antisemitism.”

I agree. He is NOT in it for the money; he doesn’t need to be. It is NOT a grand financial conspiracy. It’s his own personal (dark) heart issues and inner demons — probably literally, as he believes he was visited by a demon at one point in time.

I have not watched Tucker since his early days after being ousted by FOX.
Compared to the other speakers at Charlie Kirk’s memorial, I thought Tucker’s comments were creepy.
Actually, it was not a defense of Mamdani, it was a criticism of people who, he said, distorted what he was saying.
Tucker said Mamdani was a communist. That is not a full-throated defense.
People can not longer think straight about certain things. I had to stop listening to Levin because he sounds like an evil old man.

Israel was under Labor/socialist rule for its first 29 years but it was still part of the western bloc and was constantly attacked by Communist propaganda and terrorists (and treated like a pariah in the Third World). But Begin (who was certainly no Communist) brought the right to power in Israel in 1977 and it has switched places with Labor ever since. Netanyahu, believe it or not, is on the right (the secular right, unfortunately). Meanwhile Israel is full of lefties who attack him non-stop just like the "paleos" do here. He is certainly no favorite of mine (he is pro-"gay"), but he is still a secular right winger and under constant leftist attack.
Nationalist China used to be one of the American Right's favorite countries, despite the fact that its official ideology, Tridemism, included socialism as one of its principles. Chiang Kai-shek was a life long socialist (of a sort) as even the JBS founder Robert Welch admitted, and the Kuomintang still has the Leninist party structure it created when it had a strong Marxist wing. But you didn't hear any American conservative using that as an excuse to attack the ROC. And the founder of Rhodesia and South Africa was, according to Welch, a genuine Insider (one of the guys who was Secretly Behind Communism) but that didn't stop paleos from supporting those two countries.
The real reason "paleos" don't like Israel is that it's a Jewish state. Everything else is just a fig leaf.
