It’s so painful to listen to this woman speak. She’s the worst communicator I’ve seen in politics, and always seems like she’s not sure of what she wants to say.

Even if what she says was true (and I highly doubt it), that’s not the function of ICE now. Her’s is a moot point.

Right. “U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement” is the complete name of the division of HHS in question. In other words, the correct name includes the word “immigration” right there. So, I call bullshit.

It doesn’t mater how stupid she is. It doesn’t matter what idiotic things she says or does. It doesn’t matter how often she’s shown to be a liar. Democrat voters don’t care She could butcher a live baby on TikToc and Democrat voters would vote for her anyway. Democrat voters are people who totally lack the ability to think logically or to equate their voting habits with the outcomes like higher taxes and crime that come from voting Democrat.

I can’t figure out what she’s saying.

My father was in the Border Patrol in the late 1940s in Texas. His whole job was searching for and catching illegal immigrants.

The Wiki article on ICE says, "Its stated mission is to conduct criminal investigations, enforce immigration laws, preserve national security, and protect public safety."

She’s the worst communicator I’ve seen in politics...

Perhaps that better than being someone who communicates on the level of the California sasquatch, katie porter.

ICE is the merger of immigration (INS) and customs enforcement under DHS. Its mission is primarily to enforce federal laws governing border control, customs, trade, and immigration within the United States. There was no ICE before 2003. The Border Patrol controls the border. US Customs was under the Treasury Department. DHS as the umbrella agency is tasked with “keeping terrorists out” and ICE partial mission is to combat terrorism and national security threats. Democrats are absolutely retarded.

Hmm... I wonder what the “I” and “E” in ICE stand for. I always thought they stood for “Immigration” and “Enforcement”. Weird.

I think she’s stuck on the word Customs. As a former ICE officer it seems that she’s trying to refer to US Customs that was a separate agency under DOJ up until the creation of DHS in 2003. Those customs duties are now performed by CBP officers at ports of entry and international airports. She needs to look up what exactly ICE does and what laws they enforce. What a dolt.

She couldve at least Groked it….

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) was created on March 1, 2003, as part of the Homeland Security Act of 2002, signed into law by President George W. Bush on November 25, 2002.
Why it was created
• Post-9/11 Reorganization: Following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, the U.S. government restructured federal agencies under the new Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to improve national security and counterterrorism.
• Consolidation of Immigration Functions: The former Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS), which handled both service (e.g., visas, citizenship) and enforcement (e.g., deportations, border security), was abolished and split into three separate agencies within DHS:
1. ICE – Focused on interior enforcement, investigations, detention, and removal of undocumented immigrants.
2. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) – Handled legal immigration benefits.
3. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) – Managed border security and ports of entry.
• Specific ICE Mission: ICE combined investigative and enforcement arms from the former INS, U.S. Customs Service, and Federal Protective Service to focus on:
• Immigration law violations inside the U.S.
• Human smuggling/trafficking
• Drug and weapons smuggling
• Cybercrime and intellectual property theft
• Enforcement of trade laws

Is it her unusual blonde hair that has the Virginians mesmerized by Spanberger? What are voters expecting out of her administration?

Many people, even those who have traveled hundreds of times, fail to recognize the distinction, when you cross a border, between Immigration, and Customs. They are two distinct functions. One concerns the movement of people, the other concerns the movement of goods. Many people, perhaps most, refer to the two just as “customs.”
