It’s so painful to listen to this woman speak. She’s the worst communicator I’ve seen in politics, and always seems like she’s not sure of what she wants to say.

Right. “U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement” is the complete name of the division of HHS in question. In other words, the correct name includes the word “immigration” right there. So, I call bullshit.

ICE is the merger of immigration (INS) and customs enforcement under DHS. Its mission is primarily to enforce federal laws governing border control, customs, trade, and immigration within the United States. There was no ICE before 2003. The Border Patrol controls the border. US Customs was under the Treasury Department. DHS as the umbrella agency is tasked with “keeping terrorists out” and ICE partial mission is to combat terrorism and national security threats. Democrats are absolutely retarded.

Hmm... I wonder what the “I” and “E” in ICE stand for. I always thought they stood for “Immigration” and “Enforcement”. Weird.

She couldve at least Groked it….

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) was created on March 1, 2003, as part of the Homeland Security Act of 2002, signed into law by President George W. Bush on November 25, 2002.
Why it was created
• Post-9/11 Reorganization: Following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, the U.S. government restructured federal agencies under the new Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to improve national security and counterterrorism.
• Consolidation of Immigration Functions: The former Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS), which handled both service (e.g., visas, citizenship) and enforcement (e.g., deportations, border security), was abolished and split into three separate agencies within DHS:
1. ICE – Focused on interior enforcement, investigations, detention, and removal of undocumented immigrants.
2. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) – Handled legal immigration benefits.
3. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) – Managed border security and ports of entry.
• Specific ICE Mission: ICE combined investigative and enforcement arms from the former INS, U.S. Customs Service, and Federal Protective Service to focus on:
• Immigration law violations inside the U.S.
• Human smuggling/trafficking
• Drug and weapons smuggling
• Cybercrime and intellectual property theft
• Enforcement of trade laws
