I believe that was the method negotiated for the surrender.
They negotiated a peaceful surrender. No shootout. No car chases.etc. I’m good with that.
They have him in custody and he confessed.
That’s all that matters to me.

There was no need to restrain the “highly dangerous” skinny kid while being held in the sheriff’s office under police control.

They had a piece on TV last night explaining that MR. Wonder Assassin with the normal eyebrows made a deal with the law that he wouldn’t try anything if they would allow him to surrender “gently”. He was scared ****less that he would get shot if he attempted to surrender. The cops had to promise hun that they wouldn’t shoot him.
What is the weird obsession with this guy, he turned himself in at a negotiated surrender all of this is standard if your solicitor negotiates for you. They don’t come in kicking doors and cuffing you. You just walk with them to the Yukon or squad car get in the back and go to indoc. While in processing they can let you just sit around while they get the paper work ready. You are not a flight risk you voluntary turned yourself in every one there is armed and they would have pat him down before entry into the secure area of indoc but not necessarily before transport again he is doing a negotiated surrender. They got him, they have DNA evidence and they have text and internet chat and his partner flipped with almost assuredly an immunity deal he is not going anywhere. At least until a lefty governor quietly commutes his sentence to timed served years from now which is every governors power the moral is don’t elect lefties.
The guy has a screw loose. He actually thought he could keep the murder a secret until old age. He was worried about losing his rifle and $2000 scope. Was trying to “protect” his lover and got his lover into a heap of trouble.
No sympathy from me. He needs to meet swift justice as a deterrent. The case should be tried within a year. No point in dragging this out.
There also was no crime scene, no tape, no blood splatters on tent, no forensics in and around the tent, no ambulance, no stretcher. No entrance wound either (assuming the visible neck wound was an exit wound)

Sperry is trying to make a big deal out of nothing. Robinson was put into an interrogation room with his parents until the FBI and Utah State Police arrived to arrest him. Watch the presser by the local sheriff in Washington County.
Sperry is only looking for clicks as are so many other media and bloggers.
Last I heard, he had not made an official confession. He had confessed to his father but not the police.
But that was yesterday.

My initial reaction here was one of anger and disbelief. The sheriff didn’t immediately cuff the guy?
But wait. Maybe the sheriff is not an idiot. Once Robinson was thoroughly searched, some pretend kindness might get him to open up. He might even confess.
One thing a cop does not want to hear from an unhappy suspect: A demand for a lawyer. That will shut all questioning down.

Cops play good cop bad cop all the time when in their judgement it will get results out of someone, to prevent them from shutting down, and to get them talking.

This guy is probably never going to see a horizon again, and if he ever sees the sky there will probably be through a chain link cover.
Let me tell you, that is far worse than being cuffed.
