Among youth aged 13 to 17 in the U.S., 3.3% (about 724,000 youth) identify as transgender.
Using data from the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, the Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System, and advanced statistical modeling, this study estimates the population of adults and youth who identify as transgender nationally and in each of the 50 states, plus the District of Columbia. It also provides estimates regarding gender, age, and race/ethnicity.
Executive Summary
In this report, we use the best available data to provide new estimates of the size and characteristics of the U.S. population, aged 13 and older, who identify as transgender. Data come from the 2021- 2023 Behavior Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) and the 2021 and 2023 Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS).
Key Findings
Over 2.8 million adults (aged 18 and older) and youth (aged 13 to 17) identify as transgender in the United States, or 1.0% of those aged 13 and older. Among U.S. adults, 0.8% (over 2.1 million people) identify as transgender. Among youth aged 13 to 17 in the U.S., 3.3% (about 724,000 youth) identify as transgender. Of the 2.1 million adults who identify as transgender, 32.7% (698,500) are transgender women, 34.2% (730,500) are transgender men, and 33.1% (707,100) are transgender nonbinary adults. We confirm trends based on age found in our prior estimates and other prior research that people who identify as transgender are younger on average than the U.S. population. Youth aged 13 to 17 comprise 25.3% of those who identify as transgender (aged 13 and older) compared to 7.7% of the U.S. population. Young adults aged 18 to 24 comprise 28.9% of those who identify as transgender (aged 13 and older) compared to 10.7% of the U.S. population. Young adults aged 18 to 24 are significantly more likely to identify as transgender (2.72%) than those aged 35 to 64 (0.42%) and those aged 65 and older (0.26%). The race and ethnicity distribution of adults and youth who identify as transgender appears similar to the U.S. population. Race/ethnicity estimates for adults in this report reflect trends from prior research that found Latinx people, American Indian or Alaska Native, and biracial and multiracial groups appear more likely to identify as transgender than White people. Our youth estimates do not reflect that trend for White and Latinx youth. However, differences based on race/ethnicity among youth and adults are not statistically significant. At the regional and state levels, regional percentages of adults aged 18 and older who identify as transgender are similar across regions and range from 0.7% in the South to 0.9% in the Northeast. State percentages range from 0.4% in New Mexico to 1.2% in Minnesota. Regional percentages of youth aged 13 to 17 who identify as transgender are similar across regions and range from 3.2% in the South to 3.4% in the Midwest. State percentages range from 2.5% in Delaware to 3.6% in Hawaii.
Since 2011, Williams Institute scholars have published a series of reports describing estimates of the population size and characteristics of individuals who identify as transgender in the United States. During this time, substantial advancements have been made in the quality and availability of data about transgender people from population-based surveys. Overall, our estimates for adults have remained relatively steady over time, but there are notable changes in our new estimates. In prior estimates, there have been no statistically significant differences between age groups for adults in the percentage of those who identify as transgender. Our current estimates confirm prior trends and show that the youngest adult age groups are now significantly more likely to identify as transgender than older age groups. Our current data source for our new national youth estimate (2023 YRBS) represents the best data we have ever utilized to estimate the number of youth (aged 13 to 17) who identify as transgender nationally (just over 724,000). The data sources and analytic methods for our youth estimates have changed over time. Comparisons over time should not be made given these changes.
3.3%!
Suicidal people are often homicidal as well.
Another trans boy who lived less than one mile from Tyler recently asked he receive the death penalty. He killed both of his parents and tried to murder his brother.
A report from the same source (likely an advocacy group of some sort - in name or in fact):
https://williamsinstitute.law.ucla.edu/publications/suicidality-transgender-adults/
Goes into how suicidal transgenders are.
Kill yourself is very close to ‘go kill people and then die’ and we’ve seen that with several ‘tranny-festo’ murder sprees.
I imagine the RATS at the “Teachers” unions have the exact figures. They are the maggots who brainwashed and programmed them.
What percentage of shrinks believe this T madness and encourage their patients to persist in it?
Clearly not “born this way”.
They’ve been persuaded that this is a good way to be “cool” or “important”. It’s a choice being made by mentally ill people who have been manufactured by a sick society.
What’s the “win” in this.
Tyler was a Mormon from a Republican family.
Then he’s a Democrat.
Then he’s willing to murder to ‘stop the hate’ and ‘fascist.’
Transgenders are voters for life (a short and unhappy life though it will be) for the Democrat party.
Transgenders won’t have children - next generation killed off. Why is that a ‘win’ for Democrats? It justifies mass immigration from 3rd world countries to replace the non-breeding population. (See Europe.)
In Washington state (and many other states) it is against the law for a therapist to not affirm a persons mental delusions that they are the opposite sex.
In Washington state (and others) it is okay for the child to leave the home, be sheltered by the state or others with no communication to the “abusive” parents, and to receive medical treatment without telling the parents.
It is pretty rare to find a therapist that is not on the trans train. There are a few though. Sasha Ayad is great!
For some others, celebrity and fanfare accompanies their “coming out” and catapults teens into a high status role within their peer group or school. But what comes next?
***********************
I think we have seen what comes next. To get put into the next “high status role” they turn to school shootings and assassinations. I truly believe this. The trans cult makes these kids feel special, unique, and part of a group. But after awhile the uniqueness wears off.
These numbers are the result of outspoken peer pressure within their “group.”
Teenagers typically have not found an individual identity and adhere to their peer group in a dependency relationship to stabilize their individual consciousness.
When lecturing on this, I use the stability of a parent holding onto a bicycle when a young child is learning to ride. The wobbly movement as the child is trying to find their individual balance is exactly what happens to a teenager’s consciousness as they are searching for an individual identity.
The greatest vulnerability is just after high school or in the first year of college. It’s the reason that freshmen in college fall into the draw of fraternities and sororities as they have left the family and high school group identies.
The peer pressure during this period is extremely high. I have worked with gay and lesbian activists who grew up in a strong religious environment and went to parochial school which provided a structured environment. When they left for college they were free of that and went wild.
These college peer groups are very self validating, especially in the gay and lesbian communities. They constantly congratulate each other on coming out and being a part of their group.
The dichotomy between what they were taught as a child and their current lifestyle creates inner turmoil. They become activists as they feel that if they can convince others that their lifestyle is ok, they can believe it themselves.
I have found this pattern in most of the many gays and lesbians I have worked with to gain individual understanding.
The other big ‘winner’ here (aside from China and other countries seeking to destroy us) is obviously big pharma and the medical industry.
$1 million+ in surgeries, medicines, recovery, complications, psychiatric treatment, suicide recover, etc. etc.
Huge reason to push these confused children and adults into the meat grinder.
Just as placebos work in medicine, consciousness is the epigenetic influencing factor in the human body’s biological chemistry, especially hormones.
Gender identity and the associated personality attributes are a function of the dominant aspect of consciousness in their soul, either masculine or feminine, regardless of birth gender.
Environment is the greatest influence upon consciousness, especially in its developing stages where it is very elastic.
There is another influencing factor that I have encountered. It increases when a teenager uses drugs. That is attached spirits, often of the opposite gender.
The strong developed personality of the spirit overpowers the much weaker developing soul of the teenager.
When I have removed these attached spirits, the person was thrown into turmoil as they lost their individual identity that was entirely based upon the spirit attached to them. It was a very strong codependency.
This results in a temporary severe depression until they find their own identity and develop it.
Whatever the number, it’s too many.
Suicide by Cop...
Kill one or more for whatever stunted reasoning. Then, let the po po chase you for a bit. Then, make a stand, and force them to kill you.
All because you don’t have the courage to off yourself.
Could see more of this in the future.
Be aware. Be safe. Be armed.
The commie pervert demonrats who control the educational system need to be rooted out and punished one by one.
Anti-depressants and anti-psychotics block the development of consciousness through it various stages. Completion of the early stages of psychological development is necessary to provide a stable foundation for adulthood.
Drugs put holes in the consciousness foundation of the human soul.
Drugs do not heal, they merely block emotional and physical pain.
Without the pain or discomfort, people ignore the root cause of the wound in the soul causing the discomfort. Thus, they become perpetually addicted to the drugs.
Yes.
These children are being fed SSRI inhibitors making lifetime changes and damages to their brains.
But, hey, it’s a ‘growth market.’
Go look at the number of ‘gender affirming clinics’ in the U.S. compared to even ten years ago.
It’s a billion-dollar meat grinder industry.
Notice you NEVER see the images? Perfectly healthy teen with a part of her arm surgically scarred to create a ‘penis’ etc.
Worst experiments of the Nazis are the only equivalent that come to mind.
The defense?
“Well, they’ll kill themselves unless...”
Wait, suicide? The fact these mentally disturbed people will kill themselves unless you mutilate them and our collectively deciding it’s best medical practice to acquiesce to them?
So our medical community is basically a hostage to the mentally ill?
Pure BS... This looks like BLS numbers that will be revised down by 3.2999% by the end of Trump’s 2nd term.
Remember the “10%” lie?
For at least two decades the number of homosexuals in the U.S. was said to be ten percent.
It’s more like 1% and even that is ‘any same sex activity during your lifetime.’ So... sex abused person is counted. Drunk college girl who sleeps with roommate = that counts.
Why?
Political influence.
Higher number = more political power.
Silly me. I emulated masculine role models, learned to use failure as incentive to improve and adhered to Biblical morality. Defacing my body with tattoos and piercings was defilement of the vessel God designed. As we were made in His image I believed it wisest not to screw it up with trends that scream of personal insecurities.
Instead of “embrace your inner child” and seeking refuge in ‘safe places’ when stressed my motivational counseling was “Suck it up, Buttercup”, “Be a man” and “Get back on that horse”.
I must have missed the memo that said the norms that applied for thousands of years were no longer applicable. It’s extremely difficult to see these effeminate “gender dysphoric” youth addled by failed upbringings and not say “You’re all worthless and weak”.
But the blame for this lies on the parents and the systems they trusted to raise their progeny in their stead. They need education that teaches how to think, not indoctrination on what to think. But mostly they need to get back to actual God and not the handheld devices that have replaced Him in their lives.
