Reading the 'touching' (ABC News called these sick texts that) it struck me that these were written to absolve the roommate of being part of the conspiracy. So I asked A.I. and it agrees.
Here's the exchange shared by law enforcement and then the analysis:

Saw that many years ago. Great movie but the killers supposed text is as sappy as the movie which is 60+ years old and even then, in real life not movie scripts, 22 year olds didn’t speak or write that way.
I think they need to compare his killing spree texts to his old texts and other writings abd see if they match.
